A must have!
I've always had just one carbon block filter installed to the kitchen faucet that I use for drinking and cleaning but then I noticed that I have to replace it very often in less than 3 to 4 months of use because of sediment. So I learned the hard way that I needed to install another filter container "Pre-Filter" only for sediment before the carbon block filter I use for drinking and cleaning. Did that using this Whirlpool WHA2FF5 Water Filter in the "Pre-Filter" container and the first I noticed is that the water pressure is still the same or no loss of water pressure. Second, water taste even better. And third, my carbon block filter lasts me even longer than I expected thanks to this Whirlpool water filter.

Great tasting, clear water
Good water pressure and excellent water quality. Chlorine is now in acceptable range, and taste and smell have greatly improved. Water is clearer too.

always constant quality
I have been using this filter type for 7 plus years I have 2 filters for drinking in the house they last about a year you can taste the difference when they need changing (but I replace them yearly)

Best filter I have used for eliminating odor
I have been trying many filters to find out what reduces smell because our 3000 gallon cistern (main source of water for the whole house) tends to smell like mucky pond water when coming out of the faucets. This one does the trick by completely eliminating all odor. The only downside is that it's a

Best for silty wells
This helped filter out super fine manganese silts from our well water and lasted about 3 months (we had a lot of silt in our area)

Now lasts 1 month instead of 3
See update below. This filter consistently only lasts 3 months, though I live alone, using less water than a family. I still give it 5 stars because at $13.62 for 2, each filter only costs $6.81. Class III filter may say "only 5 microns," but it removes 25% of the chlorine & my skin is miserably itchy & flaky. Class II filter removes down to 1 - <5 microns, 50% of the chlorine, & is probably adequate for me, but I couldn't find one. Class III filter, removes everything down to particles < 1 micron, 75% of chlorine, which is what this filter is. Note: I do dump a gallon of vinegar into my toilet tanks occasionally to reduce gunk that can accumulate in standing water that doesn't have mold reducing chemicals like chlorine. Vinegar is only $2.50 a gallon at several stores, so that also is worth doing to reduce the negative affects on my body of chlorine.
