Why does the price vary so widely?

Love the product, hate the pricing. They perform well but I've bought these several times over the past 6 months and the price for XL has ranged from $55 to $70, changing weekly or even more frequently. That's an average 25% swing in price which seems a bit extreme on a product like this.

Major disappointment

The sizing on these was off by magnitudes. My father has a 44” waist, and the gap between the front and the back was a good 6-8 inches. At the price they charge, I expected better. Update: I tried again, and this time they fit.
