If you have a Zwilling knife, you need this sharpener!

A few months ago I purchased one of the Zwilling Santoro knives and recently attempted to sharpen it using another brand of knife sharpener. I pulled that knife through that sharpener, must have been 30 - 40 times, & no matter it was basically a bust. SO when I saw this I decided it was time to take everyone’s advice on this forum and give it a try. Got it earlier today, and after 10 swipes through the area designed for Japanese knives, I was happily back in business slicing & dicing veggies for my Greek Fasolada soup. Very highly recommend this sharpener, esp if you have the Zwilling santoro knives.

Updated My Sharpener

Fantastic sharpener for all my German Zwilling knives. My old Zwilling sharpener was worn out so I selected this updated version and it works great!

Dull no more

Unlike my personality, my knives are no longer dull. I sharpen them for 20 pulls each time I use them. They went from dull to super sharpie! Easy to use. I would recommend placing a towel or a cutting board under the sharpener to prevent the knife from hitting the counter when sharpening. I may be an aggressive sharpener lol!

Not the best!

I have Hinkle kitchen knife set and I thought a sharpener by the same brand would be best. It takes a lot of passes and the end result still needs some swipes on the sharpening steel. I would buy a different one next time!

Out of the box - perfect

The plastic feels cheap, so that was an immediate disappointment- especially, as you contract it with how much nicer the handles of the Zwilling knives feel. It seems easy to use and the first knives are sharp like new after a few easy movements. I think people who complained about chipped knives used either the wrong style sharpeners or put too much pressure under wrong angle. I am finding it that I am used to different angles based on sharpening stone or the honing tool, but with this sharpener it really is a simple perpendicular angle and pulling without changing the angle. I hope it works for long time to come. I appreciate the lifetime warranty and I look forward to caring for years for the knives with this tool.

Best knife sharpener I've used!

I have had many knife sharpeners over the years and this is the best I have used and for much less money. Puts a really nice edge on the knife without a lot of effort. I also like that it has stones for conventional knives and Japanese knives. I liked it so much sent one to my son. Recommend.

This sharpener is just OK IMHO. I chose it out of a slew of similarly designed sharpeners mainly using the name as my criterion. Henckels . . .the name is synonymous with knives, ergo my choice. Oh, and price, another concern. I wasn’t going to pay in the hundreds of dollars and spend a lot of my time on the high-end blade finishers. So, I trusted that a Henkel sharpener would provide the finest finish of all the low-end sharpeners and that was all I needed, something that would put an edge on the knife with little or no effort and cut that over-ripe tomato without shredding its innards. Well, the sharpener does that, I’ll admit. But the edge leaves something to be desired. It is ragged and cuts like a serrated edged blade (with much finer teeth, of course). All in all, I give it a 4 out of 5. It sharpens OK, it’s easy to use and the price is right. I just expected more from Henckels.
