Very good hat for sun protection and packing ability

I needed a hat that could pack small for motorcycle trips and wouldn't be ruined when it was needed. This fits the bill perfectly. It's actually my second one, just wanted a different color. I also have a very large head and the adjustability of these is perfect. Very satisfied.

Great for big headed women!

As a women I've had a terrible time finding a sunhat that fit my apparently XL size head. I don't think my head looks incredibly large, but I guess it must be. Anyway, this hat is adjustable and has room to spare, so excited because I love to travel and this will be perfect for sun protection.

Great hat, but....

I love this hat but it has a couple of correctable problems. First problem it the drawstring for the sizing. Hat comes with a ribbon with a spring loaded paracord clip to keep tension. Problem is the ribbon is too small and it slides through the clip requiring constant tightening. I removed the ribbon and replaced it with paracord using the original clip. Works pretty good now. If you decide to do this, use the ribbon to pull the paracord through the hole. Second problem is with the paracord clip on the chinstrap, which was put on the chinstrap AFTER the chinstrap was sewn onto the hat. They folded the strap in half and just pushed it through the clip. If you were to pull the clip to far, it will come completely off the chinstrap. I fixed this problem by taking another piece of Para cord and just tying a loop around the chinstrap. Problem solved. Now the clip will not come off the strap. Love the hat. Basic black. Goes with everything I own ( black ) and I can fold it up and stuff it in my bag without worrying about it holding it's shape when I un-stuff it.

Fits my big 24' head with 1/2 inch adjustment. Material heavier than expected and brim not as big ? Overall hat fits and will work, but will sweat a liitle more than I was wanting not a quick dry by any means.

Disappointed

I already have a 100% cotton boonie by Propper in size 7 3/4 which is a good comfortable fit, but it has no extra room if it shrinks over time. As a result, I purchased this boonie hoping it would be around a maximum size 8 that would allow for any future shrinkage. Unfortunately, it seems to fit a maximum of around size 7 3/4 and, while it fits fine now, it has no extra room. Thus, anyone looking for something larger than a size 7 3/4 fit should pass on this one. Furthermore, while the construction of the hat is good, its material seems to be relatively thin and flimsy, giving the hat a cheap feel and overly floppy appearance. In contrast, the 100% cotton Propper boonie has a thicker, stiffer material (especially the brim) and feel that is very close to real government issue. The bottom-line is I will wear this adjustable Tru-Spec boonie and expect it to be serviceable, but wish that I would have bought another 100% cotton Propper boonie instead.

Tactical Sun-Bonnet

This hat is enormous, but has a draw-string to tighten the fit. When you use it, the hat gets the slightly poofy look of a sun-bonnet, while still looking like a boonie hat. I find it amusing. I also find it useful. I wear this when I’m out walking in the sun, and it is exceptionally comfortable, even on the hottest days.

Fits great. Unfortunately it's not the same item in the picture. Loops are missing around the band of the boonie.
