Lovely Hawaiian traditional coverlet

I am thrilled with my new Tommy Bahama "Quilt". To be clear, this is a traditional Hawaiian pineapple quilt in design, but it is printed not appliqued. Then it is machine-quilted. It looks just wonderful in my tropically-inspired bedroom. The back and front are all cotton fabric, and the fill is a very thin cotton-poly batting. The whole coverlet is very light and easy to handle, and likely would be a good winter blanket in a warmer climate. I will be using this as a day cover for my regular bedding. It looks so good that I may have to make my bed more often!

Pretty

Very pretty pattern. Color is kind of a dusky blue. A few stitches were undone but not anything major. Overall pleased.

Quilting below par

Tommy Bahama Aloha Pineapple Quilt is attractive, weight is fine for warm climates. The actual stitching is not authentic, large stiches, crude design, but acceptable at this price point. My quilt has a large hard clump of thread/fabric on the center top. It is very visible and definitely an error. There is also a small dark area, perhaps something dark on the underside or lining of the quilt, also on center top. Additionally there is a small rust orangish stain on the upper top (I cannot discern what this is). The quilt appears new so I'm not sure where these flaws originated. Of course the stitching clump occurred at manufacture. I love Tommy Bahama products, and own many, including clothing and other items, so am disappointed in the quality of this item. If I can obtain a replacement without flaws I will keep it, as it is still in the theme of Hawaiian Quilts that I need for this bedroom. Of course, hand made quilts are very pricey, if you can find them, so this product will be useful if the quality improves in my replacement order.

King size is NOT as pictured

The quilt is lovely but highly recommend that you measure your mattress. The picture leads you to believe that the quilt is wide enough to drape nicely over the sides. It is NOT as pictured. I purchased the king size and it just barely reaches the base of the mattress. I could have used at least 6 more inches. My mistake was not reading that the pictured shams don't come with it. Please note that. The king shams are NOT currently available so I'll have to find another option.

Too expensive item because it did not come with the shams.

Well made. Light to handle. Eye catching. But it does not come with shams nor with sheets. Very disappointing and too expensive considering all of the above mentioned.
