Nice bookends. But arrived broken

Looked really nice. Arrived broken. Not sure if the smaller box they were packed in was put into a bigger box with only a couple sheets of brown paper for filler by Amazon or the seller. Either way, had to return and get a refund.

Arrived Damaged.

I bought these for my dad for Christmas because he wanted nice bookends. I thought that at $70, they would at least be decent quality. I wasn't expecting fine art, per se, but hoping for something stylish and classy for his home. They showed up poorly packaged with the bookends both in loose plastic bags surrounded by cheap styrofoam. They are definitely heavy enough and sturdy, but came damaged. The globe portion of the bookend was separated from the "book" portion and the white material under the paint was visible. And, therefore, the globe was somewhat wobbly. The felt on the bottom also feels cheap and wasn't lined up with the base of the bookend exactly. I was very disappointed because the photos made them look nice. Amazon offered me an exchange, but I decided to opt for a refund and I don't think I'd order from Sterling Industries again.
