Fits better then the factory one!

Like some other reviews have said this one fits better then the factory one. Been using it all summer and it's holding up well. Easy to install in place of the old one. Would highly recommend you buy this Stearns brand instead of the MTD one.

Worked great at first. Broke 6 months later.

This was a exact replacement and worked great for a while. After about 6 months, cable broke at the finger that connects to the handle bar. Metal seems to be weak and easily breakable.

Works but the upper clamp did not line up the ...

Works but the upper clamp did not line up the same place as my handle (2 inches off). Still it click right unto the lower hole and works just fine

Easy repair fixes mower

The outer cable housing snapped on our mower and after measuring thr cable length as well as housing length and comparing z bends and the style of housing stop, this looked right. It fit perfectly and took just a minute or two to install. The manufacturer of the mower had also zip tied the cable to the lower portion of the handle so I needed to supply a new zip tie.

I ordered the wrong one

It was perfect except for I ordered the wrong one. It was too short. There is a part number on rhe cable that we didn't know about, use that number to order the correct one.

Measure your old one first

About an inch too long on the cable. The sheathing length was perfect but the cable only starts to engage when the handle is almost touching the handlebar. It was enough for mine to work but maybe not someone else’s. No way to adjust length on mine

Defective part

Cable seems good quality, BUT prong inside the part that snaps into to your mower must have been bent because it snapped off duribg instalation rendering my cable completely useless. 17 dollars wasted !@*$

Dont bother

The insulated part of the cable is 1' too short for most push lawn mowers. The inner cable is the right length but doesnt connect. Poor quality. Do not reccomend. I will be returning it.
