Perfect fit for Vanguard 16HP

I accidentally broke the original tube on my old 30 year old tractor when I replaced the starter gear. This was a perfect fit.

Interesting design change

This one does not have the screw mount tab at the bottom, which seemed to contribute to cracking the base when flexed while removing the blower housing. With the bottom O-ring seal and the mounting at the top of the oil tube, it isn't necessary to bolt the bottom.

The superseded part for Briggs 807611 is not a match

I am not too happy about the item that just arrived. Yep, it fit. Yes, it's the "right" part that Briggs wants to use for my mower. But the original 807611 had a spot for a second bolt down at the engine. I think this is a poor substitution, but it's all I can expect to fix an old Craftsman mower. I gave it 5 stars because my complaints aren't the parts' fault or the seller's. Briggs gets a 1 star, the part gets a 5 star. Two O-rings are included. 692093 is Made in Japan. UPC 024847235050

I bought this because my stock tube was leaking oil all over my engine and dripping on the garage floor also. This was not an exact replacement but it is very close and so far my engine has not leaked a drop in over 5 hours of mowing this 2018 spring. I have a Simplicity Broadmoor with a Briggs and Straton Vanguard 18HP V twin engine. The stock dipstick has a place for a bolt at the bottom and this one does not. Otherwise this is the same except no leaks!!

My personal experience.

Product is not exactly what original was, but it is the replacement part that is produced now. Briggs has cheapened them up. O-ring did not seal at first. Watch for oil leaks after installation. You may need to get a different o-ring.

New design works on the old Motors

I wish it had the bolt hole at the base like the original from my 1997 Briggs & Stratton 16 hp V-twin Vanguard, but it didn't leak and fit right up.
