Easy and rewarding to build

Truly simple, tool-free and glue-free construction. This was a gift for an 8-year-old who can be easily frustrated, so I stood by during the build. The way this comes together is clever and simple, and the child was able to follow the instructions and happily tinker while I merely handed over the parts they needed for each stage. The sound is small and tinny, as expected, but well-tuned. It's easy to program songs, and a small songbook is included. I'd buy it again for a similar aged kid.

Student activity

Was perfect for 7th grade soecial needs student. Helped him slow down read and follow directions to get a positive result. Little expensive but ither then that a great project for postive results in getting work turned in on time.

My son is loving it

We are really having fun with this. The directions are easy to follow. The pegs could be a little easier to insert but otherwise it has been a great learning tool for his homeschool class

Took 5 hours to put together

This is a big project! I wish there was a warning on the box. You don't need to complete the whole thing in one day. The instructions are easy to follow, which is great. The sections are split in the book, so it's almost like putting things together in chapters. I was excited to get the kits, but it's disappointing that the material is flimsy. You can get it and enjoy the process but don't expect it to last very long unless you can keep it somewhere that it won't be moved

Fun project but younger kids will need help

Got this for a present for my 10 year old, we enjoyed putting it together and the plans are easy to follow. He did need some helps with a few things. Once assembled the platform base isn’t always level, which makes it hard to group the marbles together. Otherwise fun project!

Really great gift for a craft- and music-loving kid!

This was a relatively easy (but not too easy) to assemble gift for my daughter. She's only 6, and I did have to help some, but she found this not too difficult and she enjoyed putting it together and she has loved playing with it, and experimenting with the pins to make new songs. It's sturdy and exactly as advertised, so I think it was very worth the money. I do think you'd have to be at least 8, possibly even older, to be able to assemble on your own, but if a parent can help, this is a good gift for younger kids too.

Very disappointed.

Followed the directions completely and the end result was looking at beads rotating around. Took it apart and started again and same thing. Tried the YouTube video the company recommends, but the video was a 30 second promotion video, not an instructional video. Just a complete waste of money. Would have been better to buy a kaleidoscope and use the extra money for a snack.
