CORRECTION! Not 6" mini American-Girl dolls

I am writing this to correct one UK reviewer who said these Lori Dolls are mini American Girl dolls. The small AG dolls are identical to their 18" big AG sisters and are much more expensive than these six inch Lori dolls. From all that I have read, Lori dolls are more like mini Our Generation. The dolls seem to be well-liked. I do not own one of these, but I do own many mini AG dolls. I just want to correct that the reviewer from the UK has his dolls confused and purchasers of Lori Dolls should not expect something these cute dolls are not.

Adorable

This Lori doll is adorable, nicely finished with many details, small and adorable. It is more like a normal doll than a fashion doll, but it doesn't affect how much we love it.

Perla

Perla arrives in a sealed box with a photo on the cover to show you the contents. It measures approx 16.5cm x 8cm x 4.5cm, would be easy to wrap & make a lovely small gift for a young child. Although described as a 6" doll, Perla is actually 6 1/2" high. She has blonde hair tied in a side ponytail & amber eyes. She is jointed at the neck (so she can look side to side but not up & down), her arms can move backwards & forwards but not out to the sides, her legs can do the same & rotate out so that she can do the side splits but not put her legs together when sitting. Her knees, ankles, elbows & wrists have no articulation. Perla is a very pretty soft bodied plastic doll with a neutral expression. She wears a pastel pink/purple floral dress with a velcro fastening on the back, a shiny net jacket over the top & a pair of pale pink underpants & will fit most other 6" dolls including the American Doll Mini series. Her dull goldish brown coloured shoes are slip on but seem a little loose She can stand on her own if positioned correctly both with her shoes on & in bare feet. I really like these little dolls. They are like little girls at a healthy weight in clothing that is age appropriate rather than the stick thin dolls in very short outfits we so often see. While the quality is not the best, the massive range of accessories, other dolls, horses, pets, playsets, clothes etc.. mean you can build a lovely world in a far more compact space then a 12" doll would need.

great doll for the price

This is a great price for a little doll thats enjoyed by little ones, its smaller than i expected but its still a good size and price, the arms and legs move and hair can be styled too. i would recommend this type of doll, the other designs are also very nice and make a good set to get each for such a cheap price.

Excellent for the price

These dolls are mini versions of dolls by the company that produces American Girl dolls. And these are the only dolls officially available in the UK (as far as I am aware on the day of this review). And although all of these dolls (just like all of American Girl dolls) have identical faces I have no criticism in regards to this doll, its quality and the play functions it has to offer. Compared to other famous big brands, this doll is an absolute winner - quality-wise, aesthetically and by quality of the clothes. The hair is thick and smooth, a huge improvement from the doll's original soft-bodied version. But the main improvement is the body - the rag body has been swapped for a vinyl one, and this means the doll is much sturdier and has no problem with alignment of legs. The doll has inset eyes (or, most likely, a plastic plate covering them) so they look much more realistic than other dolls in this price range, although these dolls are much cheaper. the vinyl is of great quality compared to more plastic'y dolls that are available from other huge brands. The clothes are much better too - much more realistic, made with better materials and looking so much more sophisticated. If you are choosing and are considering buying another doll in this size (or sightly taller and more grown-up looking), spend no more time on searching - you have found the doll. Lori is amazing. And so much more affordable. PS: This doll is in the middle in the photos with two other dolls.

Appealing little doll with nice detail

This Lori Perla doll isn’t a fashion doll in the typical sense – an adult female doll like Barbie or Sindy – instead the doll is more like a diminutive version of girl dolls such as the Our Generation 18” range. The 6” size is a perfect size to play with in a dolls house, or to add to traditional fashion dolls as a little sister. The doll comes in a simple cardboard box, though is in a plastic bag inside this. The doll has removable shoes and clothing. Her gauzy jacket simply slides on and off, and her dress fastens at the back with Velcro. She has moveable joints at the shoulders, hips, and neck (but not arms or legs that bend). The dolls eyes, which are added plastic eyes rather than painted on are really realistic-looking. The one thing I’m not so keen on is a large, raised Lori logo moulded in to the back of the doll’s neck – this would have been better added somewhere more discrete.
