Luxurious Finish, Thoughtful Features, Loud Whistle!

I just about exhausted myself looking for the perfect tea kettle on Amazon! So many to choose from, and so many bad reviews peppered in with the raving praises. I didn't know what to believe, but knew I needed something built well, beautiful, and rust resistant. Naturally, I am a bad girl when it comes to making sure I empty my kettle after each session! I brew tea all day, a couple times at least, and being that I use expensive (to me) filtered water I have trucked into the house for this, I don't want to just dump out whatever is left over. So, that was my main concern. This kettle is really neat! The inside is sandblasted stainless steel, providing a surface that naturally repels rust. So far so good! I don't know about the lid, so I do take it off when I'm done and add it to the drying rack. The lid fits perfectly, and the silicone lined handles are truly unique and a joy to touch each day. The buttons for the whistle tip are very easy to reach and push, very functional and beautiful. The whistle is nothing short of deafening! Yeah, baby! That's what I'm talking about! The "wide mouth" top makes it easy to fill using my water dispenser. My only complaint is that the bottom paint is easily scratched on the stove's coils. When we get a gas range someday (because come on, isn't that the only real way to cook? Am I right?) I am certain the same will be an issue. My solution has always been to place it on the coils, and not slide it. Tell that to my child! That's when the paint was scraped. Booh kids! hehe Oh well, the sides and top look great still, so just keep that in mind. If you're picky about your things as I am, a thorough lesson on how to handle will be necessary! The color. Oh! The color! Let me just say, it is the most deep almost multi-dimensional, jewel toned, alluring finish I have ever seen on a tea pot! It just about glows on my stove! So. Beautiful. I would imagine you couldn't go wrong with any of the available colors. Lastly, I contacted the manufacturer because I needed to verify the interior was sand blasted and not teflon coated (we have birds, teflon is banned from our home!) and they were kind enough to call me at home and discuss it with me! They are so sweet! On top of that, they gave me an invitation to try their other pots out someday and offered a discount code to me just for calling. They were so wonderful. Now, I really prefer to shop on Amazon for the low prices, convenience of easy returns and free shipping, ups pick up etc, but it gives me great peace of mind to know that this is the company I would be dealing with if anything ever went wrong with my tea kettle. They only have one customer service person, so you really know you're dealing with a special business. It would be easy to call that sweet woman and ask for help should I ever need it, and I doubt she would leave me high and dry. I say this is one great deal. It's beautiful beyond compare, just as functional, has built in safety features like silicone on both the lid and handle, heats up fast (FYI medium heat only!) and has a heart warming company standing behind it in case you need something. I don't know what more I could ask for, beyond of course, it making my tea and serving it for me! Buy with confidence! Yours, Jemoiselle 2018 Update: Still have it, still LOVE it! Teakettle had a problem, but customer service came through!

Update to original review: The problem occurred over the weekend, and Primula Customer Service reached out via email first thing Monday morning to determine what happened. They told me they had not had this happen before and sent a new Kettle overnight. I checked the handle and the pin is very solid and doesn't have the little catch in it that the old one did. I'm very happy with both the Kettle and the manufacturer's customer service. Original Review: The metal pins in the handle are not well-secured and work loose from the teapot, causing the handle to fail. I purchased my teakettle on June 20, 2020 and have been using it daily for making tea (one pot each evening). When I picked up the kettle this evening to fill it, I felt a prick on my hand and the top wouldn't open when pushed the lever. When I set down the kettle, I noticed one of the pins in the handle was sticking out about half an inch (into my fingers). I have only used the kettle once a day and have never dropped or abused it. This kettle replaced one I had owned for over 30 years. I honestly expected better from a solid-body stainless steel kettle.

Stylish tea kettle

i love the way this kettle looks. it’s really pretty on our stove. unfortunately the handle still gets untouchably hot after boiling water for anything bigger than a cup of tea, so you have to use a pot holder or towel.

Coating chipping handle

I've Only had this kettle for a few weeks it's a nice looking kettle however the coating on the handle is chipping off, leaving black plastic on veiw. It has had light use, very disappointing considering the price.

Good kettle, nice colour

I love the colour and the sound it makes when boiling. Hold just the right amount of water. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because mine came with a little scratch in the side. It's not very noticeable or big and didn't damage the metal so it wasn't worth returning.

Heats as fast as an electric kettle

Searched high and low on Amazon for a kettle matching my colours and fit my budget. I love stove-top whistling kettles but I started looking at electric kettles because would be more energy efficient. But, the ones in my colours were out of my budget. I bought this stove top kettle instead and I am impressed. I love the shape of the kettle, it's light but sturdy. The whistle is pleasant - not too high pitched. Also, the switch to turn off the whistle works well. It's easy to fill. Most of all, I was surprised that the speed in which it brings the water to boil is comparable to an electric kettle. And, of course, I am enamored with the colour. This is not a criticisim but try not to scratch it. Nothing has happened yet, - I've had it about three weeks - but I have a feeling because of the type of finish it will scratch the beautiful finish. Overall -- five stars.
