Nice shiny coat with good texture

I would like to first say that I bought this for my mother a dog breeder and shows woman and akc judge and she loves this product. I asked her why she swears by this product before a show and her reply that the luster of her corgis are uncompareable and she feels it gives her help on show day. She also commented on how soft thier coats feel after a wash, which I can attest to. She says it's comparatively priced and is her first choice and has even asked me to assist in acquiring it. She has shown dogs as well as judged them on appearence, as well as other traits for over 20 years so she has used many products to compare by.

High Maintenance Fur Made Easy - And Fabulous!

Want to make brushing your double-coated long-haired dog a pleasant ritual you both share, instead of a chore? Get this! Silly me. I had never even thought of looking for a conditioner for my dog, maybe because I never had a double-coated long-haired dog before. He's a Newfoundland-Labrador mix, with glorious Newfie fur, and I'm on a fixed budget that doesn't allow for expensive groomers. For over a year, I've simply used good shampoo, and brushed him regularly. Still, his fur got matted, especially around the collar, much too easily until I found this conditioner. I even had to wrap his waterproof collar's buckle to keep the metal away from his fur. A Newfoundland's fur requires serious upkeep, especially if you take him out to swim in salt water, but it's so smooth and gorgeous when well-kept, it's worth the effort. At age seven, he had never been in a body of water - that was one reason I ran off to rescue him. Now he loves getting in water, in mud, and getting brushed. If it sounds like an endless job, it was. Not anymore! This conditioner is awesome. Seriously. I'm getting too fragile to wrestle him into and out of the bathtub for even one winter bath, so I came looking for a waterless solution, because "Winter is coming." I found it, the Miracle Coat Waterless Shampoo, and this conditioner was recommended as one of Amazon's fabulous "frequently purchased together" items. I am so grateful! I can't get over how much smoother and glossier his coat stays now, and for weeks, even after he swims, and digs into his nice - and muddy! - shade spots behind the hedges. This conditioner keeps working after all that, plus a good, almost daily, hosing down. It's amazing, and perfect for double-coated dogs that need their natural oils and shouldn't be shampooed unless absolutely necessary. It just lasts, and lasts! I'm not crazy about its scent, but after seeing and feeling how smooth it keeps his two layers of fur, I will learn to love even the smell of it, which does wear off long before it stops working. And it doesn't take a lot, which amazed me since his fur is so thick. I actually put too much in the first time, his fur looked oily at first - not for long, with all the hosing-down he gets. So, use it sparingly, and know it's worth every penny!

TOTALLY DIFFERENT! WHAT HAPPENED? I LOVED THIS, now it's STICKY AND HORRID

EDIT: NOV 17, 2014 I contacted the company that makes this product as I really liked it in the past and wanted to see if they changed their formula or something. They said no and graciously sent me a free bottle to try that was out of a fresh batch. They said IF a product sits very very long, it can change. Well, I got the new product and was excited to try it, but....while it may have been slightly richer, it was the thick foam of the OLDER bottle I have AND there is still this medicinal smell. It also doesn't give my dog the moisturized coat it had in the past. So, while I would LOVE to rate this higher and KNOW this product to have been GREAT, at this time, I do not feel it is and won't get it again. I added ONE more star as the company was responsive (after a second call) and the bottle from a new batch seems slightly thicker, but I can't give more than that because the scent and after effect on my dog's coat is still not pleasant like in the past. EDIT: This is an edit to the review written below. I had originally given it FIVE STARS. I have used this product many times, but the last time I ordered it, it was like a different product. Same bottle, but I had to actually go grab an older, almost empty, bottle to make sure I had ordered the SAME thing. FIRST, it feels very diluted. The rich foam is GONE, it just dissolved into his coat fast, gone is the lovely scent. But what is worse is the after effect. No longer does it seem to condition his coat and skin, but instead leaves an oiliness and an unpleasant smell. Pity, I really loved this product and the results it gave. It was great especially for winter when his coat and skin got a little dry. I hate it when a formulation is changed, and not for the better. I will not buy this again. I love a dog that smells nice, but hate the hassle of bathing and water all over the place. I have a short haired 20 pound dog that has a somewhat oily coat. When he sits in the sun, he smells a bit like rancid oil, yeah, I know, really appealing particularly since he sleeps on my bed! Well, I gave him a good brushing, then I took the bottle, pushed down on the pump to get a little foam here and there on his coat, rubbed it in starting from the head down to his tail and then towel dried. After he was pretty dry, I brushed him. He smelled great and his coat feels smoother and conditioned. Definitely try to get as much of the foam towel dried off your dog before brushing. SO MUCH EASIER than bathing and I got great results. Oh, also I think it conditioned his skin as well as his hair. He had been scratching and after the foam bath, he stopped. I would definitely recommend this product. Also a little goes a long way!

Average replacement for the real thing

Whilst it is great to not have to try and get the dogs in the bath to Wash them, this doesn't seem to be doing what it claims it does. The lather is minimal, it does have a tea tree sent, and although my dogs do seem to have better skin and a shiny coat, it doesn't really replace proper shampoo with water. As an alternative for dogs that may not like being bathed, then it is average to do most of the job

My cat hated me spraying this but it does seem to be ...

My cat has suffered periodically with itchy skin that she bites and scratches until it bleeds or leaves bare patches. She has also had repeated bouts of ear mites. The vet has tried and tried but has not been able to cure her. My cat hated me spraying this but it does seem to be working after just a few days. My cat already looks and feels better.

No miracle but does work

Seems to do the trick. Our Border Collie had worried at a burr caught in his tail and caused a sore patch. We treated with this then applied a tube bandage. Healed well in about 5 days. Doesn't seem to sting either. Would keep on hand for minor doggy first aid
