Don't be concerned about the brand name, it's a Bemis!

I thought this was some generic brand which is why I kept glossing over it, but given the reviews I ordered it and saw its actually a Bemis. It says "Mayfair by Bemis" everywhere on it. I don't know why they use another name, possibly to denote another factory? Anyway, I bought two of these to use in the rental house we are living in and they are great. Glossy, plastic, easy to clean. I can see folks scratching them up if you use something even mildly abrasive, but just be careful and you'll be fine. Installation was easy, and I love that the bolts would break off once it hits a certain torque, so you know you have the exact spec installed.

This is my second one I purchase for my second bathroom. First one I got has done such a great job. Easy to clean, sturdy and comfortable.

Seems fine. However the lower portion of Part D would not snap off on one side as indicated

I am giving this toilet seat 4 starts because I was unable to complete the instructions as directed on one side. The lower portion of part D is supposed to snap off when the upper portion of part D is sufficiently tight. The lower portion snapped off on one side. However when I tightened the other side the lower portion would not snap off - I had already applied significant torque and was concerned that I would strip the plastic threads on part D or crack the ceramic toilet if I continued tightening. So I stopped and left the lower portion of part D intact on one side. It's off on the other side. No big deal since it's hidden behind the toilet itself. Just be forewarned. Don't continue to tighten Part D if you've exerted sufficient torque and the lower portion has not broken off - Else you will likely strip the plastic threads on part D or crack the ceramic toilet.

I have had this toilet seat almost two months and it still hasn’t loosened up and it’s comfortable to sit on. I read that you shouldn’t use bleach on the seat so I use a Lysol wipe to clean it. I wipe it down daily but I’m finding that nothing seems to stick to it. If the toilet lid is left open you gently touch it and it lowers itself. I noticed some people saying it’s too slow to lower. If you need the seat fast all you have to do is push it down manually. You will be very pleased with this toilet seat.
