Good choice plus two tips

Installed this Kissler valve stem and now the tub (hot side) works perfectly and smoothly. Two hints: First, I had installed the Danco equivalent from Home depot, which has a plastic plunger instead of the brass one. The threads on the plunger crumbled immediately, resulting in no ability to shut off the flow, and the unwelcome ability to turn the handle indefinitely. I will never buy a stem with plastic plunger again if I can avoid it. Second tip: The large threaded nut that holds the assembly in place needs to be tightened just the right amount. Too much and you could damage the plunger threads, and too little and the water won't shut off. After the threads are slightly snug, slip the handle on and open the valve all the way and then gently finish tightening.
