Works fine but it is a toy.

Works as advertised. The provided string runs out fast, but we replaced it with embroidery floss and it worked fine. Although they do create a smaller braid. Eight 22-23 inch strings will get you an 8-inch bracelet which was needed for larger (adult) wrists. We just tied the ends together since we ran out of pieces. Can be loud if you go fast (ie faster than 3 revolutions a second). The pattern guide is crap. You can not recreate the patterns. The only one you can create is 'TWIRL' but not by following the pattern they provide. Do not work too fast or you will break something! You can't take it apart to fix it even if you have a DIY solution for broken plastic pieces. If it gets stuck, don't force it! Watch the troubleshooting video, available here or on youtube. Overall, it works fine. We preferred to use embroidery floss since we could pick the colors. But if you do use floss, the string can slip off the top tensioner. We used a small rubber band to keep it in place. Also, make sure to wind the floss on the bobbins in the correct direction.

Learning curve

This toy took a few tries for me to get correct! I was frustrated but the videos helped. I was intrigued to see if you could replace the string with embroidery floss. It does work but makes a thinner bracelet. The string they provide is very slippery which can make it hard to work with. Also the clasp/ sticker system makes measuring the bracelet tricky. I also feel like the sticker will wear out causing the bracelet to unravel.

Christmas Gift for my niece

It was a little complicated at first but my as soon as I figure out how, it was awesome. We made lots of custom bracelets.

Not for long term use

This is a cool toy. For anyone wanting to make bracelets “fast”, this is a really cool toy. But it has problems. All the moving parts are plastic, which means they are easily damaged. For instance one of the spool carriers on mine will not hold a spool. You put it on and it pops right off. I would strongly urge the first use to be with an adult as well as the child (or even teen). The instructions are written in 15 languages and are minuscule. Removing the spools from the carriers requires compressing the part of the carrier so the spool doesn’t damage it when it comes off. And once you have everything in place, spinning the spools takes just the right amount of force. Too little and it comes to a stop. Too much and it jams. Bring a lot of patience and good humor to the first use of this toy. Otherwise you’ll be putting it in the trash. I also recommend you have some small binder clips on hand. They provide tape, but I found the binder clips worked better. Also, once you install the arm on the base, you won’t be able to remove it, and it will no longer fit in the box for storage. It’s not a bad toy. It’s a cool idea. But it’s made of cheap plastic.

Best buy of the year for us.

My 8 years old daughter bought it to herself from her Christmas money. Not just it is in a best price on the market ( toy shop has on self double price) but a very good creative toy. Easy to use. After a couple of bracelet you are just hooked. On the first day she used all of the yarn but after we found out we could replace it with strings and wools too. Very good set to make present, or just make for yourself. Best buy of the year for us.

GREAT 10-14 year old gift!!!!

10 year old can make perfect bracelets! Setting up the threads you will need to read the instructions, it is VERY specific, but if you follow the steps it works every time! (Sometimes spools are loos, just clip the end and rewrap)
