Lazy light switch

The install was a little confusing but works great can turn the lights off from the couch. Love the lazy light switch.

Not a Tuya Smart Life device...

Eh? Why is it important which App you use? Well, the vast majority of smart home devices now use the Tuya Smart home App - which means ONE registration and login gets you many different manufactures. Not this device. It REQUIRES the iBRIGHT app with a new login. Oh well, right? Then the iBRIGHT app wants location access on your phone. Nope. Nope. Nope. Well... without allowing location access, it will not let you rename your switch. Smells fishy to me. I can't come up with a reasonable connection between device naming and snooping my location. The device works, wires nicely and integrates with Google Home and Alexa - but it isn't a cost leader for such devices either. ***EDIT*** To address the comments from the iBRIGHT folks: I did try Tuya Smart Life - and although it sees the device it will not complete setup, repeatedly. LOCATION: I did turn off location in the iBRIGHT App, and when I go to rename the device using the pencil icon, it immediately tells me I must turn location on.

*sigh* My Mistake

Long story short, I thought I had a neutral wire and did not, so I could not install this. (Believe me, I tried. Oh, did I.) I wish I could've made it work, the switch itself seems well-made and looks nice and doesn't clash with the wall or the room. It would've been nice to be able to say "Hey, Google..." and have hands-free light operability. (And yes, I checked. It's not a neutral wire. I thought it was, it wasn't.)

Not compatible with standard Apps

I have fundamentally come to the point where any device that requires me to create a new login is dropping to two stars before I even consider the rest of the product. It is inexcusable that I have to use a proprietary App in this day and age--everyone should follow the same standards (and most other products do--my house has dozens of switches and lights and it is very rare that they will not work with the Smart Life App. This App also inexplicably needs my location... why? I know where I live; they don't need to.
