This draw hasp won't last long if used outdoors, exposed to the weather!

In my application, this draw hasp is on a section fence that's seldom opened. The draw hasp is fully exposed to the weather. The pros: + Reasonably priced at $6.83 with free Amazon shipping when I bought this. + Easy to install & does a good job drawing a gate tight. + For added security, a lock can be installed. + Advertised - manufactured from steel. ◄ I'd love to find one of these made of stainless steel, but the only one I could find was 2-3/4" & I need a 4" draw hasp! + Advertised - draw hasp latches for a tight, secure closing, assists in aligning and drawing door to frame. + Advertised - Zinc plating offers corrosion resistance. ◄ The coating appears to be too thin & doesn't weather well! The cons: - The zinc coating is POOR... too thin in my opinion. The hasp started to rust shortly after I installed it! - Made in China. ◄ For those that prefer to buy products made in the USA. Closing remarks: ▪ The manufacturing country of origin of these have changed & they're not as durable as the original. ▪ When exposed to the elements, these will start to rust in short time & will have to be replaced. ▪ The first 2 pictures are of the draw hasp I replaced. The last picture is the original one that I touched up with Rust-Oleum rusty metal primer. Note that this draw hasp is imprinted with the National Hardware brand. The new one, made in China, is blank... no imprinted brand name ! ▪ It's a good thing I decided save & touch up the old draw hasp! The old draw hasp has been reinstalled!

Surprised and disappointed to receive these, and see "Made in China" on the package... Thought National was a brand manufactured in the USA.
