Kept fish alive 26 days!
These automatic feeders work and are the only ones I have found with the option of feeding every other day. I like to use the 48 hour interval, this helps with not overfeeding. Test it out over a plate or tray to get your portion just right, program barrel turns + feed interval and once mounted on the tank it does the rest. Several times I have needed to use (2) of them for a 180 gallon tank, including almost a month away in one stretch and the fish were fed without worry. One feeder at each end of tank [ 1 with flakes / 1 w/ granules]

Easy to use and pretty quiet
We only bought it for vacation and end up using it on our regular schedule. It connects to the plug directly, we do not use batteries. I don't know how long the battery will last. Be careful to set up for the first time. The first time I opened the feeder too far, it filled the entire tank. I adjusted it and taped. Now it’s perfect

Display Remains Blank
First Feeder: LCD screen remains blank for us. If we push buttons we see random symbols in various portions of the screen. Contacting Amazon support to try to quickly obtain a replacement unit. === Update: Replacement feeder has arrived. Display works on this one. My next concern is: How do I know whether the feeder is ON or OFF? There is an ON-OFF button. The instruction sheet says "Press the ON-OFF button to turn it on or off." I see no change at all in the display when I push this button. (The countdown timer seems to pause when the button is depressed, but starts counting down again after I release the button.) Provided instructions are limited. Single sheet of paper with two large images identifying the parts of the feeder and display. Line near top of sheet says "Please read the manual carefully before using it." There are only 4 steps in the instructions section. 221119: Added one star as feeder appears to be dumping as scheduled. So far still testing over a bowl. Will need to adjust the opening so we do not put too much food into the tank during one feeding. Still do not know how to use the ON/OFF button to pause the automatic feeding when it is not needed.

Worked great while out of town
I was leaving town for 3 weeks and I was a bit nervous. It did great. And still had enough power to last 2weeks after I was back. I let it run to test the battery life. I did test it out on my desk to see how much food would come out so I could adjust. Has a nice adjustable door on the drum you open or close the amount of food you desire. I used flake and some pellets mixed. The drum holds a lot and turns to dispense. I'm happy with it.
