Fairly easy to install

Seems like a good product. Was easy to install. The only things I have questions on are the wire clamp, the single screw for the plastic hood, the screw terminals, and the neutral terminal. The wire clamp is screws to the outside of the box, but so far it seems to have kept up as an extension cords end. There is only one screw holding the front case to the back, so the part where your wiring goes may seem a little loose. The neutral screw is the tallest and works great for six gauge wire, but will be too high to mount the plastic case if you are a larger wire size. The screw terminals push the strands of stranded wire to the side, and seem like they are built for solid core wire. Other similar products use a brass plate to spread out where the screw pinchs the wires so that they have better contact.

Be careful then ok

If your wires come from upper this one is well suitable for Tesla as it asks ground rod on top. You get to be careful to use it - not only comment from one star review, I found the U shape metal is too soft and the nut plate may come out of it. when you tight the screw make sure wire is just under it and push the nut plate incase it come out, then it works fine This is traditional simple design but shall be improved. Camco 14-50P has also simple design but has better nut plate which I recommended. Mine one missing one screw, it seems sb only counts to three - better than a bear that count upto 2. The screw must be #9 or more.

great outlet

Bought this to use on my RV power cord reel. It was much easier to wire than the replacement 50 amp plugs commonly used. I was not worried about it not being waterproof since it is installed in the electric bay and protected from the elements. Now I can easily install my surge suppressor in the electric bay and not leave it out visible on the power post. And if for any reason the surge suppressor stops working I can just unplug it and plug my transfer switch into it.

Robust connections for a great price

Used this to install a 50a surge protector in the basement storage of my RV. 14-50 receptacle with heavy duty connections and a great price, wish I could have found a quality plug as easily. Ended up using the Miady 50AMP RV Replacement Male Plug, and it's good as well.

Quality Surface Mount Receptacle

Needed a 50 amp receptacle for my welding unit. Knowing Cooper is a well established manufacture of electrical devices, ordered this part and installed under my sub-panel in the garage. No issues and delivery was very prompt. Would not hesitate to order again, if it was required.

Works Great

I used this to convert a dryer cable that I had to a Nema 14-50 plug for my Tesla Model 3. I wasn't able to find one of these at the big box stores. Amazon always has the stuff I can't find in the stores and the price was good. I can plug into a dryer outlet and then plug in my Tesla mobile charger. This will give me 24 amps for charging.

The connector is very ruggedly built, the total opposite of flimsy. I am using it for an extension cable for my EV charger. Highly recommended.

Great surface mount NEMA 14-50 option

mount was easy to install, price was good, so far seems pretty durable. This is NOT a waterproof unit so it is only suitable for indoor/garage installation.
