Fix for 30+ Year Old Fixture

Great replacement cartridge for a rather old dripping Price Pfister shower valve. Inserted smoothly and solidly into the valve body (extra silicon applied to the cartidge beforehand). Drip is gone. Shower control knob is a bit firm to move in and out, but water control appears to be normal.

Did everything it needed

Old cartridge was causing water to leak out the handle. Took out old one, put new one in, leak stopped.

It does the job though not as smooth as the original. Pfister will ship you a free cartridge if you call them, as they have a lifetime warranty. I bought this as my shower had a bad leak and I needed it as quickly as possible.

faucet repair

The original had a metal slider but all replacement cartridges are made with all plastic. Eventually hot water destroys the ease in which the faucet is opened and closed! But because the price is fairly cheap, it's easier to just buy a new one each year. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to replace.

Essential Part for Many Price-Pfister Faucets

This is really the only working part in some Price-Pfister kitchen and tub/shower faucets. I've found that it gets stiff over time. Danco seems to supply better replacements than other suppliers, whose stems I have found to leak and to be quite stiff even when brand new.
