While it is extremely easy to inflate as long as you have a pump (not included) and is rather comfortable as far as air mattresses go, it really isn't all that durable (I buy a new one every 1-3 months for one of two reasons: Bear with me because I don't have the faintest idea how to describe the first issue I have with these mattresses, but I will try). You will notice that the air mattress has that "upholstered look" such as what you would see in a living room sofa or easy chair where, instead of being a completely flat surface, it's got rows and columns of that "look" that's as if it's made of stuffing beneath a cloth upholstery that is "gathered" at intervals and has one of those "buttons" sewn from the front of the "sofa" or "easy chair" to the back, giving the furniture a very plush, soft, look. I do apologize, but that's the best description I can give, even though the air mattress doesn't have those buttons, it DOES have that same sort of APPEARANCE...which is important for the purposes of this review. Instead of actual buttons that are sewn into the sofa that hold the desired shape, on this air-mattress it is either heat treated/melted/vulcanized or glued to hold the shape you see in the photos. As I mentioned, I have to buy a new one of these things every month to three months...Well, it is SPECIFICALLY due to this very feature of the air-mattress that I have to do so. After between 1 to 3 months, you will be peacefully at rest when you will suddenly hear a LOUD, loud enough to sometimes scare the crap out of you, LOL, "*POP*!" at which time you will then notice that one of these areas I've described, to lose its shape. Instead of the flat yet upholstered appearance you have been sleeping on, there will now be a rather large and uncomfortable bump at the point of where the method used to give the mattress its shape has failed. Sometimes this failure can be "put up with" because it's not in an area that makes the mattress too uncomfortable. However, once one of these "POP" situations occurs, there are more coming along right behind it in short order. So, after 3 or so BANGS from it popping out of shape, you will find that you are left with a very uncomfortable BAG FULL OF AIR that is nearly impossible to sleep on. The SECOND point of failure has been a leaking seam (not my fault, item was returned and I was promptly refunded (in a brick and mortar store...prior to my joining Amazon Prime) or something sharp inadvertently jabs the air mattres causing a leak...either way the mattress is losing air fast enough that you will wake up after less than four hours and have to refill it with air. Aggravating, to say the least. Those have been the two failures with this air-mattress that I have encountered...99% of the time it's that "upholstered look" (which gives the mattress its rigidity and shape when inflated) that fails causing the mattress to turn into a shapeless bag of air that is literally IMPOSSIBLE to sleep on.that fails while the other 2% is some kind of leak (either a seam leak right out of the box, or something I did to give it a puncture. I must add that I am *EXTREMELY* CAREFUL with my air mattresses because I do *NOT* enjoy having to spend the $$ to purchase a new one every 1-3 months to begin with. Now, to be fair to Coleman, this mattress *IS* a VERY COMFORTABLE air mattress. And, in full-disclosure, I weigh between 200 and 235 (my weight has fluctuated like that for a very long time and is just how I am) and am 6 feet 2 inches tall. I'm not a little boy!! This mattress supports me and my trashed back very well and I find it to be a very, very comfortable air mattress. Rather than give this mattress a poor rating and giving the impression to the readers of this comment that Coleman makes a garbage product, I feel it is important to be fair and make it clear that a) I am *NOT* a little person by any stretch of the imagination, b) I use this air mattress on top of the "sofa" in the RV because the "sofa" is my primary bed and all the cushions are smashed flat to where I would otherwise be sleeping of a fabric covered piece of plywood. this air mattress fits PERFECTLY on the "sofa" in the RV.
