shifting seat

the install is not so simple - the seat keeps shifting - i don't want to tighten too tight as to break my toilet itself. should have better install instructions & shiftless washers or something. Otherwise- we like ihe product.

Perfect for my needs

Purchased this raised toilet seat after an injury that made sitting, rising to stand and walking very painful and difficult. I was offered a commode by the nurses but felt it was too bulky for my bathroom. This toilet seat was perfect. It raised my toilet 3.5 inches, it allowed me to use my regular toilet seat over it therefore being able to close the seat when not in use. It allowed me to sit on the toilet and stand from it with significantly less pain. I would recommend it to anyone with mobility problems! My only concern is having to unscrew the entire seat to clean under it. Note that every time the seat has been removed for cleaning , it has been clean.

A few issues

There is one big issue. The long bolts included are too large to go through the holes on the original toilet seat. Had to use a knife to allow the long bolts to go through. A round file would probably enlarge the hole as well. There were no instructions about using the included washers. We positioned them how they came on the bolt. Like the rise it adds to the toilet.

Warning: dimensions

The description says 14x19" for seat dimensions, but the round one I received is 13x17". It works with half inch all around short, but less well fitting and less stable than I'd hoped.

Installation bolt a little larger diameter.

Used a Kohler toilet seat for the installation which had 1/4" bolts. This riser uses 5/16" or 3/8" bolts requiring the Kohler seat bracket to be drilled out just a little. Left 'Easy to Clean' rating blank as I could see having to remove the seat and riser to clean between the top of the toilet bowl and the bottom of the riser. Could be an issue for the elderly without readily available support.

Sturdy

I got this toilet seat riser after having hip replacement surgery. I needed a higher toilet seat because of my hip restriction.. It was easy to put on and works great..

I rented a Carex toilet seat when I had my hip surgery. I liked it so much that I bought my own. My toilets are quite low and this works perfect for me. You have to remove your toilet seat, put this on then put your toilet seat back on.

Cracked after a couple of months

Cracked after a couple of months so doesn’t even support 175 lbs (and certainly wouldn’t support the 300 lbs as the company claims). I’m now trying to mend the cracks with JB Weld epoxy - will be trying several layers. Hope it works as the added height is so much better than the regular height.

Wished there was nuts as well as wing bolts

I give the toilet seat four stars instead of five due to 7/16 nuts should be added to the hardware. Bolts are a lot easier to get snug when using a wrench. (Don't go crazy and crack the bowl!) Add some weight such as a body and the front drop-down.

Plastic cracked

I purchased this ahead of my knee surgery in January 2022 and only used it after my surgery date of May 18th, 2022...This week after 2.5 months of use its cracked. No one in our family is over the weight limit. Is there a warranty to cover this. It was almost $45 CAD with taxes.
