Letters are much too small for children

I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist. I think this product is a clever idea: upper alphabet letters on one side, lower case letters on the other. I was excited to get it…until it arrived. The letters are small, kids have to squint or hold it up close to their faces to try to decode. I give them a magnifying lens, which helps. The letters are printed in different colors, also clever (distinguishing vowels) except that the colors are pastel — which, against a yellow background make them almost invisible. I wish this company had made the letters darker and much, much bigger. It’s a great concept in theory, but in practice it’s a waste of money for the purpose it is being marketed. I’m keeping it because the kids on my caseload like popping the bubble cells up and down the arc. As a pop-it toy it’s great. I can’t recommend it for reinforcing alphabet letter concepts.
