Nice little pump

Nice little pump for the price. I had pre-existing pond that needed some cleaning and I didn't order the extra filters which I should have that's why this got a four. Pond is getting better looking and just now is only needing filter cleaned once a day. It was needing cleaned out at least twice a day. So if your pond is already clean this is golden, if it is not BUY the extra filters. The filters can be cleaned but it would be easier when your in a hurry to just switch with a new one instead of cleaning it every time. I just recently bought my new home and the pond was already full with the koi and had not been kept up in I don't know how long. So I know my pond looks yucky but it's come a long way since last week now just waiting on more filters

Been through 2 summers and still going strong. Would like more than 2 options (+ just a bubbler) when it comes to nozzles. They are probably out there.

Connecting to hoses is problematic.

The connectors furnished with the pump are incapable of accepting 3/4” hoses and it became necessary to obtain a fitting adapter from another source. Not one accessory adapter or fitting was available from Beckett.

Be careful of the prefilter- mine broke off.

I bought this pump for a client's project. I specifically bought this pump for the pre filter. I didn't care for all the other parts. The pump has worked well so far, which I'm grateful for! However, the prefilter broke right off. Fortunately, I had also bought the 680 GPH pump too, in case the 500GPH wasn't enough lift. So I used the pre filter from the 680 GPH on the 500 GPH pump. Unfortunately, I had been hoping to return which ever pump I did not use, so the prefilter breaking busted that plan. I will say that the mouth piece on the pump is a little odd too. It's a nice idea to have a double outlet but it doesn't close up well to use only the smaller outlet. I had to put an extra piece of piping with a valve to keep it from leaking out. Maybe that's just mine. It'd be much better to have an adapter that just allows for the smaller size aswell.

The best fountain pumps

These are the best fountain pumps. I’ve used them for years. Only one I buy now. They will last and last - have good flow, and have a nice large intake/suction filter so as not to get plugged up as easy.
