Fills My 12ft by 9ft Screened In Patio With Beautiful Sound!

For a few years now, on and off (when I remember or see one in a store) I would say to my wife, "I want a fountain for our porch so I can hear the sound of water while we're out there." Problem is, when you go to a home improvement store, they want you to sell your firstborn and a couple of fingers for a decent sized outdoor fountain that's big enough to make some sound but small enough for a porch. I first bought a super cheap one in a department store that I saw for about $15. Well, no need to mention, it was terrible. I decided maybe I should just order one on Amazon. So I did that, and spent $30. The one that came was just as bad as the first one. The water would squirt 3ft into the air LOL. I said "there's gotta be one that's good" and I stumbled across this one. I will tell you right now, you do hear a very faint motor sound, but after a few seconds, you really don't hear it or notice it anymore over the sound of the water. The fact that the fountain has an adjustable water pressure switch is awesome and something I didn't consider when buying the fountain. It's not very heavy but heavy enough that no wind will knock it over or child unless some force is really put into it. I went to a home improvement store and, in the garden section, found containers of river rocks for as little as $7. I filled the little "pools" of the fountain with colorful river rocks, and I arranged them in a way that makes the water have a very nice trickling sound as it bounces across the tops of the rocks. Even with the door open, you can hear the water trickling from the living room which is about 20ft away. I didn't much care for the lights on the top as, at night, they seem very bright and distracting... so I covered those with the rocks too and at night now, you can just barely see a little shimmer coming from underneath the rocks... and that looks a lot cooler to me. No splashing or anything like that. All the water stays where the water should stay. I found assembly to be very easy. I have large hands and was able to easily pull out the cables, pump, and instructions inside. I felt it to be simple instructions. I didn't quite understand why there were four suction cups on the bottom of the water pump. The instructions did not mention them and did not show where to stick the pump. It just said, "submerge the pump at the bottom of the water reservoir". I tried to get the suction cups to stick and they didn't so I just let it sort of hang there on the bottom of the reservoir, in the water. Also, a tip... I went on Amazon and bought a waterproof extension cable with a light switch built in. That way, when I go outside and sit in the chair, I can easily reach down and press a switch right from my chair rather than having to pick the plug up, open the outdoor plug cover, and plug it in, and then unplug it when I'm done. It's one less thing to do and it makes the experience feel "finished" and smooth.

The good: ... First of all, it works great! The lights were far too bright, but disconnecting them was as easy as just disconnecting the light connector. This is personal preference, so others might like the lights. It's very quiet. You have to have your ear within a few inches to hear the motor. ---- Now, for the issues: ---- This fountain deserves 5 stars, so that's what I am giving it as a product review. That said, something shady went on with this before I received it. .... It was used. I don't just mean someone tried it out, it didn't work or they didn't like it so they returned it. This was actually used. They tried cleaning the tubing but there was hard water debris still on it. There was still water in the pump casing, too. There was even a broken piece of some decoration that did not come from the fountain. .... My theory is this was either a store display that was boxed up .. OR .. The person who returned it only needed it for a decoration for a short while and returned it after. It's possible they broke it and returned it, too, because the lid on the motor casing is very loose and a piece of the plastic is bent. Honestly, I think they were refilling it or resetting the motor and broke it, then returned it for a refund by blaming the shop. ..... My question is: Why was this resold as a new item? No one had even gone through the packaging to determine it was still okay to resell. The parts weren't packed away. They were still set up. And again, water inside and a strange broken piece of something. --- Bottom line --- The fountain works great but whomever is responsible for receiving returned merchandise did a very poor job of looking it over before reselling. Buy at your own risk. The fountain is great but this shop, maybe not so much.

Looks great. Works great. Pump is not adjustable.

The instructions show a pump with an adjustable flow rate. Mine came without a flow rate switch, so I can't adjust the flow. Because of the discrepancy, I did not give 5 stars. I like the amount of water regardless of not being able to adjust the flow, and it produces a nice sound for a 12X15 room. The rim is damp in the bottom/main basin, but after 8 hours of running, there was no over splash. On the shelf or the floor. The material is fairly heavy and it seems to be a nice color/quality. It fits in with the room colors and plants at my desk. It was mostly assembled. All I had to do was un pack, connect light connector, fill with water and plug it in. Very minimal. It is a tight squeeze getting the pump in and out with your hand and I had to use a pen to get the pump placed and pull the pump out by the cord. My hand would not fit in side. I can't reach an octave on a piano, but my hand muscles are fairly developed. The lights are better in pictures, but it is really nice.

Great fountain

This company went above and beyond for me and they offer a solid product. I bought this item used and it had two broken parts to it from the previous owner. This company exceeded my expectations and sent out those parts… even though the responsibility to fix and replace technically fell on the previous owner , who did not respond to me. Its a decent product and I couldn't be happier. My zen area is now complete and I owe a lot of that to Alpine who came through for me and went above and beyond. Its a good company that has your back. 5 stars.
