The filter fits and it seems to filter. I ordered the wrong size the first time because sometimes I'm an idiot but, was able to easily swap thru amazon and the correct one fit perfectly.

The filter works great but it clogs up in about a month

I used the filter in my well for my home irrigation system. The well is about 30ft deep and I'm located in the Bay Area. The filter works great but it clogs up in about a month. Even with opening the valve in the housing, which is supposed to clean the filter does not really work. I had to hand clean the filter, which was quick and easy but a pain as I had todo it every three to four weeks or my system wouldn't have enough pressure to run the sprinklers. The filter only lasted about 6 months, I tried hand cleaning and used a brush but it still remained clogged to the point were I had to remove as to ensure the sprinklers had enough pressure to operate. Aside from having to check on it every so often it worked great. I just wish they were about twice the size.

Works as advertised

I use this as a final filter in a system that pumps water out of my koi pond and thru my irrigation system. It seems to keep the irrigation heads from clogging. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to keep debris out of their irrigation system.

I've put this in two systems. Just replaced the filters after 6 years. Pulled them out cleaned them and they look good enough to put back in.

New filter not like the older ones

I was replacing an older Rusco 1" filter and this looks just like the one I have and the dimensions are all the same. Only difference is the bottom of my filter is round and the bottom of this filter has four small tabs or feet (see attached photo). With the new filter, I could not screw the filter holder all the way on because it was slightly too tall and it leaked. I had to file down the four feet slightly so the filter sat a little lower in the holder and then I was able to assemble the unit with no leaks. My filter assembly is only 10 years old so shame on Rusco for not ensuring their new filters are backwards compatible. Filter is fine otherwise but this is just an indicator that the company has poor engineering or specifically designed this new filter to not be backwards compatible. In either case, I will not be buying Rusco products in the future.
