I adore these but won’t buy them. Pricey.

Scent is amazing. Even burn. I absolutely love it. But can only accept as gifts. If they cost 20% less $14 for 2 wick and 18 for 3-wick and maintained quality, I would buy it. Switched brands. So sad bc I like and trust the Root culture and philosophy.

something is wrong with these candles

The media could not be loaded. I was crushed when another candle company quit making our favorite candle scent. we tried several brands and I heard good things about Root so we tried them. I have a very sensitive sniffer, so my wife gives me veto power on candles and scents that come into the house. These candles got in on scent, but both of us booted them out after we put it out… The smoke that rises off the candle when it is snuffed smells like it emanates from the bowels of a landfill used for chemical waste. The odious, black smoke just keeps rising and completely ruins any pleasing aromas left by the candle. In the video above, the candle had been burning for only 5 minutes, you will see the smoke rise after it has been put out. No imagine that smoke 20 times thicker and pungent. My wife has put a candle out in her office before and I have been on the other side of the house and smelled the odor. More than five minutes after putting out the candle for the video, there remains a noxious odor from the candle that burned only 5 minutes. And before anyone asks, we never burn candles too long. Burning any long lasting candle more than a couple of hours at a time will only cause the candle to rapidly diminish. I remember from high school chemistry the law of conservation of mass…has root created the law of conservation of odor? good odors must equal bad odors? I don’t know, but I do know my wife and I will be back sniffing candles and looking for one we both enjoy!
