Not a Winco but it looks the same

I have had the 8-inch Winco strainer for the last couple years and I really like it. I needed a bigger one because when I make mashed potatoes, I can't get them all in without some dropping a couple into the sink. So, I ordered this one. It isn't a Winco. Says Thunder Group Inc. But it looks like it is made as well as the Winco. Hope it stays just as nice. I threw my old plastic one out because it old and probably has BPA in it. I had it for about 35 years! Don't think plastic it supposed to have boiling water poured on it, so I was glad to finally be rid of it. I love the handle on my new strainers because I would not set my old one in the sink. Even though I keep my sink bleached, I am a germ a phobe. My husband would pour as I held it and I would always get splashed with hot drops on my hands or arms. With the handle, that doesn't happen anymore, and I can actually pour myself if need be. :)

Works really well for me

I bought this to strain my local Carolina Gold rice. This heirloom rice is cooked by boiling it for 15 minutes and then straining it. The strainer needs to be fine and because I cook a fair amount of it, I need a BIG, fine strainer. This is real high quality and I think it is a great deal for the price!

Fills the bill

Very Well-made, sturdy and should last. The mesh is strong and a good size. I wish the handle were not so long so it would store more easily.

this is an inexpensive strainer NOT a cheap strainer. it's made of steel with a wooden handle. that's about it.
