Dipping Oreos

This works great for dipping Oreos in melted almond bark. Bigger than the cookie so you can dip and flip easily. Used for Christmas cookies and again at Easter cookies.

Great product for dipping

I used this for making dipped oreos, worked well because the slots allow for an even coating and not too heavy on the bottom. For what it is, it seems overpriced but your paying for the brand not the item. Limited use for items that are fully dipped.

Perfect for Baking Chocolate Truffles

I bake every week. I don’t bake truffles often, but when I do, I make a LOT, usually for a party. I always melt chocolate chips and dip the truffles in them. I used to use a spoon, but this is so much better. I can tap it against the side of the bowl to let excess chocolate drip off, then drop them onto a wax-lined baking sheet. It’s exactly what I wanted. I did read reviews saying that the metal rod snapped from the handle, or it was too fragile to use. It is fragile, so I’m careful when I use it, and five years later it’s still in perfect condition. Depending on how you drop the truffles onto the baking sheet, it does leave the wire marks you need to smooth out for presentation before it hardens. The final con is that it’s difficult to clean, bu part of the reason for that it the fact that it’s used for chocolate, and chocolate is hard to clean. I have used this for dark, milk, semi-sweet, white chocolate, and almond bark. I have used a microwave and double boiler. It has always worked. I love this tool.

Very light and easy to handle.

I make dozens of candies during the holiday season and this simple, lightweight tool makes the job go quicker with less stress on my hands. In the past I used a fork to dip but that was cumbersome, didn't lend enough stability to hold the product steady, and the fork's tines were thick, leaving gaps in the frosting. This scoop 'cradles' the product allowing you to jiggle the excess coating from your product while holding it in the 'cradle'. I recommend this Scoop if you make yummy coated treats!

Worked ok.

I was opening the package and when I pulled it out it sliced my finger open. Wouldn't recommend for children to use.

Very useful for dipping.

Pretty great. I find dipping to be the most trying part of the candy-making process, especially if I don't have someone lending me an extra set of hands (or if the person helping me isn't that attentive or skillful, which happens). Standard candy dipping tools have always seemed too small to me. I bought one or two sets of dipping tools (typically they come with a tool that has two prongs and a tool with a round loop that is only good for holding balled candies). I thought about using one of those Asian spider skimmer/strainer things, but it was so busy with all the metal wire (and so it had too many places for chocolate to get stuck) and was still bigger than I wanted. This little tool is basically exactly what I wanted before I even knew it existed. Simple design with only a few rods to hold/catch the candy, allowing as much chocolate as possible to pass through the openings. If you'd asked me to design a candy-dipping tool, I'd have probably sat down and sketched this item. Exactly what I was needing to make dipping easier.

Great dipping scoop to keep your hands free of sticky candy.

My wife is the candy maker and relies on this dipping scoop to keep the candy coatings on the candy and not on her hands. Wilton makes some pretty good candy making products.
