This is a must have for low hanging light. The glare used to be terrible from the lamp on top of my kitchen table

half chrome works best in lamps that sit low on surface(s)

love these; I have several lamps [Kaybele Kids lamp*] that could otherwise blind with brightness were it not for the half chrome top. LED bulbs also mean you can use "higher watt" equivalent. *don't let the description fool you & don't let "kids" have all the fun.

Perfect Solution for Bare Bulb Situation

I purchased this bulb for the stairway to our basement because there is no way to put a cover on the fixture and the light is at eye level halfway down the stairs. This bulb is the perfect solution! It provides the same amount of light while directing it away from our eyes. I plan to purchase additional bulbs for some of our lamps to soften the light below and bounce more off the ceiling.

Did the trick!

One of us reads in bed, the other does not. Rather than the light shining straight down from the wall sconce, this bulb diffuses the light. Plenty of light for me to read, but it cut the glare (and also the complaining ????)

No glare and a nice warm light

The media could not be loaded. I wanted to put a different fixture up. I can’t stand glaring light in my eyes. These changed the entire feel of the bathroom and the fixture. Saved money on a new fixture. Saved a lot of time and energy as well.

No more bare bulb filaments burning my retinas out!

I replaced the bulbs in my bedroom ceiling fan with these, after spending far too long trying and failing to avoid looking directly into the incandescent filaments of the original bulbs. Now I have more light, more even lighting thanks to the inside of the half-chrome reflecting light back up through the glass bulb shades, and way fewer afterimages in my life!

These are almost perfect

The media could not be loaded. They look great and feel great sending Avery nice glow. The light is excellent. They dim with very little flickering. However GE has chosen to put he branding on the end of the bulbs. Looks like a big red mark. You can’t hide the branding. GE this isn’t 1990’s Club Monaco branding wars. No one wants to see your logo on something like this. We trust GE for almost everything at our studio. Sadly with their specialty bulbs the marketing department missed the boat. If you need the bulb branded put it on the stem where it will be visible with the light off but not when on.
