Beautiful finish - Incompatible with NPT thread standards

This shower arm has a beautiful brushed nickel finish. Unfortunately, I was unable to use it as it is incompatible with North American NPT Thread standards. I've included the NPT standard diagram and measurements along with photos of the pipe for convenience. This arm is meant for IPS thread compatibility which requires a washer to seal and is not tapered. However, for North America (United States) our 1/2" plumbing usually follows the standards I've attached. The threads on this pipe are flat-cut along the tops, fairly shallow in depth, and are not tapered. It's unfortunate I was unable to use this shower arm, because the weight of the materials and the finish are beautiful. If you have plumbing that follows IPS standards, this should work for you.

Sturdy and Just the right length!

I put a 'switch ' on my shower so that I could add a hand sprayer. I installed this 8-inch shower arm so that I could reach the 'switch'. Short-person problems. It works great. Easy to install. Just wrap threads with plumber's tape and screw in. Super easy.

Works fine...looks just OK

This was for my basement bath and I was going to save a few $$ vs. the Moen I put upstairs. Works fine,but the color is not as rich as the Moen and the flange not as decorative. My advice is to spend more and get more.

No complaints. This item was exactly as described and the quality is fine, as good as anything out there and better than I expected. My only problem was that I made the mistake of assuming the size I needed was 8in, when in reality I needed a 6in. But this still works fine and looks good.

Threaded ends of shower bar are brass color, NOT black. May show depending on your shower head.

While this is black in color it is very slightly shiner than the other matte black accessories I have. The more Important consideration is the threads on both ends are NOT black in color, but rather the underlying shiny brass color. In my case, my Kholer awaken shower head does not screw on completely over the length of the threads, so there was an unsightly brass “ring” between the black shower head, and where the black of the shower arm started. The picture shows the shower arm completely black, end to end, but this is inaccurate, the threaded ends are brass color.

Matched the trim kit and the new shower head. The pipe is very sturdy and made the old pipe look flimsy.

Great Product

I purchased this because we put the shower head a little too high. The extra couple of inches allows all of us, regardless of height, to reach and change the shower head settings. It was reasonably priced and difficult to find elsewhere. Thanks Amazon!

Flange is included

The description stated flange not included even though it was pictured. It does come with the flange just so you don't order a flange separately like I did.
