Decent for the price

This gravity feeder is decent for the price. Small round kibble works best for dropping down most efficiently. The lid doesn't close perfectly so I secure it with a small piece of tape. I only use gravity feeders when going away overnight and wanted to add another for my cats. It isn't a high-quality feeder, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced gravity style that holds a few days kibble for a day or two at a time it will certainly do the job. I would not suggest it for a daily feeding bowl.

Better than most but not perfect: Don't blame the feeder for the shape of your kibble...

What they got right: -Unlike so many of these gravity feeders, the bottom chute is steep enough and wide enough to allow kibble to work it's way down into the bowl without much intervening or pawing. To the products defense, how well any gravity dispenser works is largely going to depend on the shape of the kibble you put in it. Nice round pellets are going roll right down in to the bowl. Fishes and X's are going to hook together and are not going to move to the front of the bowl, period. -It felt flimsy at first but once locked into the base, is sturdy enough. The lid detaches when opened fully which makes cleaning much easier without worrying about snapping the hinge apart. -It snaps together and closed securely. If it gets knocked over when your overzealous 100lb shepherd tries to have a between meal snack of cat food, it stays tightly closed. Anything in the bowl itself will spill out, but the container itself stays attached and the lid stays closed. What's not right: -While the chute is nice and steep, ensuring good pressure against the kibble to move it to the front, the sides of the bowl right at the bend are WAY too low. As a result, food easily spills out the side right at the opening of the chute into the bowl. It also gives the cat too much room to pull food out of the bowl. -As others have noted, the product stickers are really hard to peel off cleanly. In the end, nothing beats hot water but it was time and effort that really didn't have to be wasted had they used a lighter adhesive.

Kibble spills

It is perfect but the sides where the kibble comes out could be a little higher. The kibble spills over the sides sometimes.

Okay for $5

I bought this for our 2 kittens and adult cat to see how many days it would last before needing refilled for our upcoming vacation. For $5 I can't really complain too much but the food gets stuck and doesn't fall into the bowl like it should. But they're on day 6 and there's plenty of food in the container and will ultimately do what we need it to do.

It’s bigger than I thought

I’ve used these for my cats before and like the idea that they can graze on the dry food. SVes a lot of bowl washing and gives you an idea how much the cat is eating.

Works great!

I wanted to review this product because it works great! It's also a really affordable. I saw some unenthusiastic reviews, but had a small budget, so I took a chance. I am thrilled with these feeders! I initially bought 2 then went back and bought another one. I obviously have several cats, and these feeders have really helped save me some feeding time. Again, great product, especially for the reasonable price!

Works great!

Thus is a great feeder! My only hiccup is that the food doesn't come down and fill the bowl on its own as it should, but the cats don't actually have a problem with that. When I notice it I just give it a little shake and the food will come down. Otherwise the cats just paw at it or just eat it from the reservoir opening to get more food. Even though it's not perfect, I'm pleased with it. It's a good size and it's really easy to clean and fill.

Slight design flaw - but other than that, great feeder!

I think this feeder is great, except for the fact that due to the size of the opening in the container that allows the flow/dispensing of the food being too wide, any slight movement causes food to come off the sides. I guess it could be that my kibble is small, too - I’m using this for my cat, so kibble is the smallest it can be. Sometimes I move it to sweep/clean around it and even if I try to push it softly or pick it up and move it as carefully as possible, SOMETHING has to come off both sides every time. This also sucks because my kitty is one of those that likes to stick her paw in her bowl, pull out a pawful of kibble and just eat it off the floor, so every time she hits it with her paw some more kibble is dispensed and it goes all over the place lol Other than that, I think it’s a great dispenser. It’s sturdy overall, seems to do the job of keeping the kibble fresh for a couple weeks while it’s consumed, and I don’t have any issues with food getting stuck or not coming out. During the holidays we traveled a little and this dispenser was a lifesaver!

Great for a few days away

This has been very helpful for weekends away. As commented by other Reviewers, I was concerned about my cats scoffing too many biscuits, but although this seemed to happen at first, they soon slowed down when they realised biscuits were 'on tap' when they wanted them. Similar to other comments again, the hole is too big for cat biscuits, so I narrowed it down using some stiff but flexible plastic (I stuck the plastic inside, with a smaller arch-shaped hole - however, it means I will have to change it/re-tape it fairly frequently when cleaning). I also found the lid a little bit fiddly to fix down, but managed it after practice!. Despite this, I think it is a fairly good product, and quite sturdy. Over all, I am pleased with my purchase.

as described

this product was well described and worked whilst i was away for the weekend. unfrotuantely as with other reviewers i found the gap too big from the tray to the tower and they was too much food. unpon trialing it before i left my cat (being very tubby!) just ate and ate until she was sick (bless) so i guess she just has to train herself to eat in moderation or it means i have to pruchased an electronic timed feeder. overall the product was cost effective and if you put a piece of cardboard over the gap to make it smaller it works fine, unless like me you happen to have a greedy cat!

Does the job well with a few adjustments

Purchased this feeder as I was feeding a stray cat and we were about to go on holiday and was worried how he would be fed whilst we were away (we've now adopted him). Very pleased with the quality of the feeder and the food does drop down easily, the only time I've noticed the food getting slightly stuck is when its close to the feeder needing filling up, but cats soon work out how to get it to fall down, they just scrape the food down with their paw. I did have to make the hole smaller as the food dropped through too quickly, I altered the size of the hole using plastic from a milk container, tape, and a stapler. I placed the feeder inside a cat house we have in the garden to keep it dry, because if the food was in the open and it got wet it wouldn't work as the food would swell and cause problems. It's very convenient it only needs filling up every week or so and the cats love it.

Quite large, not suited for wet food

Delivery was fast and reliable. Product as pictured. It is quite large (I was expecting it to be a litte smaller) My two cats eat out of it fine. I'm using it to hold their biscuits, I was hoping I might beable to use it for their wet tinned food. Although I havn't tried this, I really do not think it would work. The opening is really big! It also wouldn't keep the food fresh so therefore it would dry out. Overall, good piece of kit just to have for biscuits :)

I purchased this in order to leave a good supply of food for a stray cat that I feed, as I was going away for a few days. The feeder has a very good capacity, but because the delivery slot is quite large it was necessary to stick some plastic across it to reduce the size , so that the food would come out more slowly. Once this was done the feeder worked very well, and stray cat didn't starve during my absence. It's probably more suited to dry dog food, as the biscuits would be larger.
