Excellent for an RV (homes, too)!

Storage is always an issue in our RV, particularly for bulky items that are needed frequently. After months of constantly moving things to get to my mixing bowls I realized I had the perfect spot on the side of a cabinet where I could hang them but I had to find a set with rings and tight fitting lids. This set from Tovolo fit my parameters. An additional perk is I can hang my wire rack/stand for the convection oven/microwave and the bowls nest perfectly inside. After a year+ of use this bowls are still wonderful. Just purchased another set for my small 1930 kitchen.

Thoughtfully Designed Dual-Use Mixing Bowls

This Tovolo set makes great mixing bowls. — THE RING — Let's start with the standout design feature: the ring melded on each bowl. It's meant to keep one finger there so you can hold a bowl while mixing without the bowl twirling around. It's a great design feature. I do however, wish it looked more securely melded on. I feel like it could snap off at some point. — BOWLS — The steel feels a little on the thin side and this is where I took off a star. It's more than fine, but we'll see how long they last. The inside measurements are nice to have, but practically, it doesn't help much when you are mixing more than one ingredient. They are more of a decorative detail to me. One of the great uses for these bowls is for cooling ice cream. Some recipes call for you to put a warmed mixture in one bowl, and fill another bowl with iced water to cool it down. Having bowls that fit within each other like these help immensely! — LIDS — Having lids on these is an added bonus, The lids aren't airtight, but they work well to convert the bowls into storage containers for storing in the fridge for a few days. — SUMMARY — These are great nested bowls that takes up the space of one bowl. They are great for mixing and great for fridge storage. Recommended.

Serviceable, hanging rings, yay!

I've wanted to replace an ancient dented set of similar SS mixing bowls but really need the hanging rings so I was happy to find this set. The sizes are a bit larger than my original set which is fine, a nice mix of sizes for multiple cooking purposes. In my small kitchen it is imperative to hang as many pots and utensils as I can. Love these for hanging up! Nice flat stable bases, generous rims for secure hold. A good buy.

I love the tight sealing lids, but the largest bowl already started getting rust spots on the rim :(

I have had the hardest time finding stainless steel mixing bowls with tight fitting lids (ones that won't leak when you tip them on the side). I finally found these and was so excited! They seemed relatively good quality when I got them. They aren't very thick, but not so thin that they seem super flimsy. I felt that for the price, they were a good value. Unfortunately, after hand washing them, I left the largest one sitting upside down on a dry towel to drip dry, and the next morning it had rust spots that wouldn't scrub off. :( I will probably keep them just because I need a few mixing bowls that won't break (like my glass ones), but I'm disappointed in how quickly they rusted.

The finish is not perfect, there were some small flaws on the rim of two bowls. The lids fit quite snuggly. The steel gauge is less that I hoped for. Overall the bowls are fine, and the flaws won't be noticeable after the wear and tear of regular use.
