Fantastic... except

4 stars — almost perfect; glad I purchased The card design is terrific. I really like the owls: charming without being sappy, colorful without overwhelming the page. The card stock is great, too. Good weight and the ink from my pen doesn't run. Unfortunately, there are three issues which caused the drop from 5-stars to 4. First, there's simply far too much "advertising" on the back of the card. It's distracting, in a way that undermines the beauty of the art. While it's partly for a good cause (recycled paper), it's too wordy. Second, the envelopes are a poor match for the artwork. They are of a cheaper weight/heft and they are so white that I find it hard to believe that they are unbleached, recycled paper of the same quality as the cards. And lastly, the cards don't fit easily into the envelopes. An extra millimeter or two is all that would be needed to avoid the cards getting stuck. ---------------- Side note: I saw several reviews that mentioned the difficult in writing on the cards. You can avoid this by using something like a fine-point UniBall rather than a generic ballpoint. Felt pens, fine-point sharpies, ink-well pens, or roller-ball pens would all work well. Worth the extra trouble in my opinion.

These cards are realy cute and I like that they are recycled. The only issue is that they are a glossy plastic and you can only really write in them with a sharpie.

Very nice!

Very pretty card and good quality. Glad I bought three packs. The inside is a little glossy, but a sharpie writes on it just fine.

WISE AS AN OWL

Birds of all kind are special to me, I wish I had the freedom to fly like they do! These are adorable owls, I have seen one once in my trees. You will get many compliments sending them out to your friends.

Not completely satisfied!

I love owls, and was very pleased to get these cute cards to us for birthdays, thank-yous, etc. HOWEVER, I must admit that trying to write on the inside with a ballpoint pen was very challenging, if not impossible. The surface of the card inside is slippery, and seems to be treated with oil or something that prevents the pen from writing freely!!!

Beautiful designs. Great price. Cards appear to have some sort of wax coating so you can only write inside them with ballpoint and the ink still smudges on your hand. Not a big deal.
