Easy for kids to open the lid

What I like about this container is that the lid is rubberized, so the kids can get a good grip on it, and easily open it. The previous thermos container that I got for my kid (attending pre-K) had a stainless steel lid which looks nice, but is slippery and much hard to grip. The mouth is also wide, which makes it alot easier to pour in hot food. Our previous thermos was taller with a smaller mouth, so when we try putting in the pasta, there was alot more that fell on the countertop, and went into the garbage. Thermos also makes the funtainer line, and the difference is that the funtainer has a pop-up lid which is hidden storage space for a foldable spoon. That also has a plastic lid instead of the rubber lid. I personally prefer the design of the Foogo more because that extra plastic lid means you have more nooks and cranny to clean, and it's also taller, so it's hard to fit in some of these smaller lunch bags that the pre-schoolers uses. So far, the foogo has been good at keeping the food warm, and it's been fairly simple to clean. We haven't dropped this container yet, but we've dropped the funtainer water bottles several times, and that has been extremely durable, so we're expecting the same quality here.

Keeps Food Hot For Lunch At School

Durable construction. Keeps things hot for hours. Perfect for my child to take freshly made mac n cheese to preschool. Pasta and sauce is still nice and toasty by lunch. This keeps food hot way longer than the smaller 7 ounce Foodgo container I got when my child was a baby. That one cools down significantly warm after just 1- 2 hours which I found out after sending her to school with cold food and not knowing it. And my child is only 3 and never communicated it to me. But one day, after getting my child ready for school, I get a call that school was closed due to fire in the neighborhood. At noon, I opened the mac n cheese I made at 7 :30 that morning and it was completely cold. So I did some research online and based on reviews, the larger 10 ounce Thermos Foodgo does a better job insulating than the 7 ounce one. So I got one and was happy with it. So much so, that I got another yesterday. I should have known the 7 ounce thermos wasn't doing a good job keeping things hot. While making lunch I would fill it with boiling hot water. When lunch is ready, I poured the water into a mug to make a cup of tea for myself. And I put the lunch in to the pre-heated container. When I sip on my tea, it is comfortably warm. Cool enough for me to take large sips. When I received the 10 ounce thermos. I did the same thing. Pour in boiling water. Make lunch. Then empty the water to make my tea and fill the Thermos with hot mac n cheese. But I didn't think about how hot the water would be and took a big gulp. Yikes! It was still boiling hot and I burned my tongue!!! So yes, this works. Really well, actually.

Good thermos.. need to “prep” with hot water 1st for a few minutes.. my kid uses for hot lunches.. maybe last snot 4-4 1/2 hrs.. doesn’t stay hot.. get warm.

Stays warm easy to eat from

Stays warm all day. Uneaten food from lunch is still warm when tossed at the end of the day. Easy to clean. No residual odors. Simple for child to use. Love that it is dishwasher safe as many, even stainless ones, were not.

It is a good thermos for kids

It is a good thermos for kids. If it was me using it I would like the food to be a little hotter, but my grand daughters use them for school and by the time lunch comes around the food is warm to maybe a tad less than warm. They don't get long lunches so its perfect for them to gobble their soup/ravioli etc. For an adult I would say that it something that retains the heat a little more would be more suitable. Not a bad product for kids, but not great. A bit pricey for having "warm" food but it did arrive quickly and it is attractive...and again, the kids like it...and that is what matters. Four stars from the kids. Three stars from grandma...LOL
