Simple operation & no battery needed

I am currently updating my bathroom and needed a voltage tester to confirm whether or not the power to my light fixtures and outlets was indeed turned off before attempting to replace them. I am a novice DIYer who really didn't need a meter with all kinds of readings, so this Klein Tools ET60 caught my eye right away. I like that it doesn't need a battery and derives its power from whatever it's testing. If the wires or outlet is 'hot', the display lights up on the meter. If they are off, nothing shows on the meter. There is no audible alarm or notification with this meter, but the AC and DC indicators are clearly marked, as well as voltages up to 600. As long as you have the sensors placed in the right spots, the device works as expected. Users will not get exact measurements or impedance readings with this tool. It's a simple measure it - see if it's hot - kind of thing. The sensors have caps and they lock into place on the back of the tool. The leads are replaceable. For my needs, this is an inexpensive, easy to use tool that I trust when doing simple home repairs and updates. It's not going to make all users happy, but considering the few home projects I'm doing - it's perfect for m.

Works great but...

It works great but there is no where to store the sharp probes in the meter. Or anywhere to store the protective caps for the needle leads. It works great though and very light weight. I've used it many times with my work. Just wish there was a storage for the probes.

A definitive power test

I got this meter because I was tired of picking up induced (ghost, phantom) voltages from all the non-contact sensors and low impedance meters I've tried.

A must-have!

I bought this to replace my old voltage tester. I had also bought an intermediate one from a big box, but the leads were too short to be useful. I use it on household and mobile voltage applications,and it has performed flawlessly. One must be cautious that the leads are inserted fully into devices that have removable leads, so as not to get a no voltage reading when voltage is present! Easy to locate orange color!

Great tester for the price

After using a Greenlee DVC-10 for over 10 years, I finally had to find a replacement. Nobody currently makes a meter that has exactly the same features, but this meter is pretty close at a fraction of the price. After a few weeks in the field, it has performed as marketed. Tough construction, and easy use are a huge plus. It does leave some room for improvement. There is a slight delay in displaying voltage. A major downside is that, unlike most voltage meters, this model does not make any sound when there is voltage present. This isn’t a deal breaker, but takes some getting used to. I also wish that it had an indicator light for continuity. The digital display is easy to read, and the optional backlight is great when working above a suspended ceiling. The GFCI test feature works as advertised. I really like how the probes, after removing the unnecessary guards, mount to the proper distance for testing receptacles. They work great on tamper proof outlets!!! If there were audible voltage, I would have given 5 stars. Tough meter, designed for daily use.
