Great for kids!

We got these walkie talkies for our sons, who are six and 8, to take with them when they play outside. Whether they are in the backyard or riding bikes out front they are perfect for keeping in touch and checking in. As far as specs, we live in a flat desert neighborhood full of homes, no tall buildings or big trees to mess with signal. The range on these seems to be about 2 miles with very clear audio, with about another mile until the transmission becomes too hard to understand. The controls are very simple and compact with a minimalistic design that fits easily in a child's pocket and comes with a nice secure clip. These are a wonderful entry level walkie, durable, very reliable over short distances and the battery is long lasting. I would recommend them for short-mid range as long as its not over 3 miles.

Good walkie talkie

Worked well in mild weather during ski tour. Clip and carabiner were helpful to secure to backpack and helped the radio stay on even during a fall. Also battery life seems true to the 18h promised.

Very Nice!

These are very nice little 2 watt FRS radios. You can choose between 0.5 watt and 2 watt channels. They are small, sleek, water resistant and perform well. I tested them at a few different distances, up to 3/4 mile in hilly, heavily wooded country against my Rocky Talkies and they performed the same. These also have VOX and weather. Would buy again!
