Works For A Short Time But Doesn't Stay Cool For Very Long

I started using under eye patches about a year ago. However in the middle of all of that something happened and I got very sick for a very long time and my skin started to freak out no matter what thing I put on it. So eye masks were out and I really missed them. When I found these I thought I could get the enjoyment out of using the eye masks again but without the chemicals that I was suddenly reacting too. The cooler works fairly quickly and does cool them down to a great temp. Not so cold it would hurt your skin but cool enough it feels soothing. The only thing I don't love is the gel only holds the cold for long enough for me. I would really like about 30 minutes but I really only get about 12 before they are so warm it isn't soothing any more. Either way they are much better than not getting to use them at all. So if you are looking for something chemical free or an option for soothing with cold I would recommend this.

They work and great for traveling! Cool idea!

As soon as I saw this eye gels device I was instantly intrigued. This is the first time I've seen something like this and I use eye gels daily, so I figured this was just what I needed. I love the idea of having this device to keep in my bathroom or I can take it on the go with me, which is super convenient. The device itself isn't too big and can be charged using the included USB cable. The eye gels are placed inside the device and are chilled before applying. The under eye gels are thick, and feel comfortable. They can be washed and reused for up to 3 months be having to replace them. They feel really nice and do actually help my under eye puffiness and dark circles. Overall I really like them so far, but I do have two issues with them. The eye gels don't stick on very well, so you will have to lay down or sit while wearing them. That's a bummer because I like to be able to move around while I wear them. Also the device doesn't get the eye gels super cold like my fridge does, they are cool but not as much as I would like. This is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Good but not quite great

These skn by conair Cool Beanz Reusable Under Eye Patches are a great idea, but the execution could have been a bit better in my opinion. They do help with puffy undereyes and bags, but nothing more or less than a cold frozen metal spoon would. Which brings me to my first complaint, they just don’t get cold enough in the container. Personally, I would rather put them in the refrigerator since they got a lot colder than what the device do it itself. The second issue is that VI patches don’t stick to your skin like at all. I feel like they should’ve given reusable sticky pads or somethings so that you could actually stick them under there. But as it is, you have to lay back a little bit so that they don’t fall off. Overall not bad, but definitely could use a few improvements, maybe for a future product!

On the go cooling

Everything worked exactly how it should with this product. The unit cooled the eye masks and they felt nice enough, but when I first tried them, I didn't see the reason why you would need a whole separate unit for something that could be achieved by just throwing a eye mask into the fridge. Then my tween saw it and thought it was amazing and immediately claimed it as hers and brought it into her room. I started to think that maybe this would have been pretty cool if I was in college and didn't have a full kitchen or if I was traveling and needed a cooling eye patch. For me, I did deduct a star because I found the eye patches to be a bit itchy compared to others I've used and the patches only last 3 months.

Better than I thought.

This is a really interesting concept from Conair, the company that is famous for hairdryers. Portable cooled eye gels. There are some early critical reviews here that have some merit but miss the point. These do not get as cool as classic fridge eye gels but they get cold. The gels themselves are great. The point is that you can take this little portable unit with you anywhere and it just works for a quick inflammation reduction. Is it phenomenal? No. A little gimmicky? Yes. However, for those that travel or want some quick eye work at the office, I think Conair might be on to something. I actually recommend this unique set up.

So far I'm not super impressed with this item. I thought it was really cool. It is a really nice machine and it comes with nice sticky eye patches but I can't say it really cools the patches to anything noticeable. I'll keep playing with it and if my mind changes, I'll update my review.

Quick easy way to address bags under eyes

The media could not be loaded. I am not getting any younger and it is most apparent under my eyes. The increased puffiness from lack of sleep and stress was noticeable. Cream, chemicals or surgery are not personal options, so I was excited to try the skn by Conair. While there is debate about the duration of the reduced swelling, what I can share is that using the skn Cool Beanz does work. It reduces my under eye swelling and makes me feel more awake in the morning. To make long term changes I need more sleep and less stress, but until then the beanz work well. Another application in the afternoon is a nice alternative to a cup of coffee. Just 5 minutes of prep and I can feel rejuvenated with 10 minutes of quiet-time and a beanz application. My daughter, who is in her 20s, like to apply them as well before going out for the evening. This is just the tip of the iceberg for this technology. The skn base can cool the beans down from 73.9 to 41.9 in just 5 minutes. I think of non-chemical portable ice pack cooling and other applications that will only improve this product. From the video you will see verification of the 5 minutes timer and the 30 degree drop in temperature during the same period. The instructions say the patches retain their coolness for 2 minutes, and that is what we generally found to be true. I wonder if a little more gel would extend that or are we at an engineering limit? My only real issue with the skn product is that it only came with one set of beanz. With the investment into the product and process, having a second pair to cool down while wearing the first would be a great benefit. Pros: - cools fast - reduces puffiness - portable (with a charge) Cons: - only one set of beanz is provided in the kit - maybe thicker beans would increase duration of cooling effect
