The best single stage carbon filters for drinking water.

Great filters for drinking water, the chlorine reduction is substantial. The water taste better than bottled RO. A .5 micron carbon block water filter is the wrong type if your filling a boat or RV tank. You need at least a 5 micron in a 3/4" inlet/outlet housing. Or go with a larger filter like a 5". This is a great filter for an ice maker or drinking water tap. I use these with a 1/4" inlet/outlet housing, plenty of flow for filling drinking glasses. But, there is also a high flow version called the FloPlus-10. The CFB-PB10 only drops about 2 psi though, works fine with my 35 psi 1/2" supply line. If you need more flow or volume go with a 5" diameter filter or even a 10". This is a 2.5" filter, it will only flow so much, its rated at one gallon per minute. The FloPlus-10 is up to 2 gallons per minute. But, I prefer this filter for ice makers and my drinking water tap because it removes more chlorine than the FloPlus-10. But, most of us probably can't tell. Both the CFB-PB10 and the FloPlus-10 are great 2.5x10 filters for drinking water. I replace the filters every 2 or 3 months, or whenever the flow slows down or the chlorine taste comes back.

Get Clean Pure Water

I use this as the final filter (after a 1 micron sediment filter) to filter all the incoming water for our RV. It removes practically EVERYTHING including heavy metals, chlorine, and most illness-causing pathogens. Nice to have perfectly clean, pure water throughout our entire RV! In my experience it lasts 1 to 3 months (depending on incoming water conditions and pressure) before needing replacement.

Piece of junk. No flow.

After installing this filter on a 40 ft trawler as routine replacement, the water delivery was weak, pump noisy and kept running 10 seconds or more after faucet shut off. Assumed air in the lines somewhere. After spending an hour or more bleeding at all the faucets and then at the lines, found water not free flowing from filter outlet to the fresh water pump. When inspecting this brand new filter, found that by covering up one end and blowing through the other end, I could barely blow through it. The old filter was unrestricive. Put it back in and problem solved. Still need to find a decent replacement.

Reduced Water Pressure

Placed this filter in our motor home, and it reduced the water pressure so much we could not use it. Pressure was reduced for both city water and water pump usage.
