Run small and just odd

I bought these for my Daughter for Hockey so we wouldn't have to tape her socks on anymore. My daughter is big for her age and has a very solid build. The straps that are under the shorts that go around the thighs to keep the supporter close to the body are tiny and flimsy. The were a pain to get on in the locker room over her long johns and then dug into her legs. We just stopped using the straps and I cut them out (poorly attached anyway I think they would have ripped in a week or two) The pelvic protection is some very flimsy foam, nothing like the cup my son has in the boys version of these. They also run SMALL. I got a medium so my 6 year old (her 10 year old brother wears a small in the boy version) would fit in them for a couple seasons. We will make it this season but it won't last longer than that. We mainly bought for the sock holders and it does a good job at that, just not so great for everything else. I will have to find her a better option when she gets to a Squirt Level (10U) but for now these will work.
