Fantastic Sharpener!!

Sharpens the dullest knives! Wouldn’t use on serrated blades Stable footing on counter top when held with one hand. Soft rubber base doesn’t slip and won’t scuff fine countertops Best I’ve ever owned.

It gives a useable, but not very sharp, blade. And I am sharpening Wüsthof knives. Not surprising since it sharpens at a 34 degree angle, something clearly stated on the box. Not at the sharper angles some have cited here. … … But using it in connection with a sharpening rod, I can get a sharp blade. I first use this, which might "clean" the blade, removing burs and correcting some past sharpening errors. Then I use the rod which gives it a sharper edge, a sharper one than achieved without using this first. . …… I am not especially good at sharpening knives, but have tried just about every kind of sharpener. The rod, now in combination with this, has always worked the best.

Perfect for a simple sharp blade

Very easy to use especially for beginners. Light and compact fit into my draw easily. Was able to sharpen a bunch of knives in a matter of minutes. Was safe to use and wasn't afraid to use at any point of time. I was able to get my knives pretty sharp. But not super sharp which is why I gave it 4 star. For me personally I like to be able to have a super sharp blade on my Japanese chef knives but for all my ordinary knives this was perfect.

Pleasantly Surprised.

It's not a magical fix. I had several blades of all types that WERE dull. I easily run them through the simple sharpener before or after each use. I no longer have dull blades. A good bang for the buck.

We send our French knives out for professional sharpening twice a year. This Wusthoff keeps the blades tuned up between trips to the professional. Easy to use and it fits nicely in a kitchen drawer.

I absolutely love that this doesn’t take up a lot of space in my kitchen. I have it tucked behind the knife block and I really appreciate that it’s not a whole rigmarole to take out of a box, set up, be really noisy as I sharpen my knives, and then carefully packed away for the next use, like my old knife sharpener was. Wish I found this about 10 years earlier, but better late than never!

China Make Product not German

As like German make knife I purchased this product pressuming made in Germany but actually it is China make. There was no mention of China make .

Does a good job of sharpening knives!

Tried sharpening my knives using a sharpening rod, but couldn't get knives sharp. This sharpener did the trick very well with little work. Even my partner who was a chef and teaches hospitality was impressed with how sharp our knives were after using this sharpener compared to the rod. Would recommend.

German quality

Really good product. Create a very sharp edge on dull knives. Very satisfied with the purchase after all you can never go wrong with German products.
