Worth it

When I saw "cooling" I expected a gel or something like that but this does not have that. However, the protector is cool to the touch when youre putting it on the bed and it is soft as well. I had no issues with it staying on my memory foam mattress with a sheet so, its good for me.

Easy to take on/off, waterproof

It’s super lightweight, costs less at the wash/fold than other brands I’ve had. Durable, comfortable, perfect for my new Tempurpedic pro adapt!

Can help cool memory foam mattress

I bought this mattress cover for one specific purpose: to help my memory foam mattress stay cool. I’m a hot sleeper, and memory foam mattresses tend to absorb and retain that heat while you sleep. Although my mattress has a gel foam top layer that is supposed to help with the heat issue, it still stays warmer than I preferred. After the first night with this cooling mattress cover, I was pleased to wake up comfortably cooler than before. The cover definitely did it’s job. The pad is soft and comfortable, and doesn’t make any sound when moving in bed. I can’t say how well it protects the mattress just yet, but I’d imagine it live’s up to Serta’s promises. Some other reviewers mentioned a problem with the cover causing the bed sheets to slip off, but I haven’t noticed this issue. For reference, my mattress is queen sized, and 12-inches, and the sheets I use also have deep-pockets like this cover. My only complaint is that I noticed some black splotches on a couple spots of the cover. I noticed this after I washed the cover before first use, so it’s either a factory stain or something package related that accidentally went with the cover into the wash. I think it will wash out over time, and it doesn’t appear to be staining the mattress or sheets, nor can you see it under the sheets, so it’s not that big a deal. Just worth pointing out. I can’t say if it would be as effective on mattresses than don’t also have a cooling gel top layer, or at least a gel topper pad, but I would definitely recommend this cover for those that do and wish to further cool their mattress.

Good compromise.

This product is a necessary "evil" for us. Waterproof covers on your mattress have to have a waxy or plastic-y coating in order to be waterproof. That, in turn, though, makes you wake up feeling clammy. Our daughter is four, however, & she sometimes has nightmares & comes & crawls into bed with us. She also, occasionally, has accidents. We got a new, relatively expensive mattress & decided that we'd better cover it in case both things ever happen in one night. The first mattress cover we bought was awful. It felt like Terry cloth on the outside, but the underlying plastic layer still caused us to wake up every morning wet with sweat. After about 5 days of that, we were done with mattress covers & were ready to just take our chances with something happening to our new mattress. Somebody recommended this cover, though, & we decided to try it before giving up altogether. It's a lot better than the previous one had been. It's still not as moisture-preventing as sleeping on our mattress with just a fitted sheet covering it, but it's a vast improvement over the other cover. So, for any other parents out there with babies or toddlers, this is a good option. It will at least keep you comfortable enough until you no longer have to protect your mattress. Thanks, Serta.

Works great except my sheets now slip off the bed..."cooling technology" is fabric that does not cling to fitted sheets.

Since this item is only 1 day old for me, I didn't know for sure about "water resistance" and "easy to clean", so I couldn't honestly give those items 5 stars. But since it looked to be of good quality, and certainly 5 stars otherwise, it looks to be at least 4 stars on those. I highly recommend.

Not the softest…

As advertised, I suppose. Not the softest, but seems to do the job well. At first it was a bit like sleeping on a plastic sheet, but maybe that’s the quality of the sheets we placed over it. After time, didn’t even notice it until it was time to clean the sheets. Not bad for the money, but I’ve used way higher quality ones.
