Little hard to drink from

I love that this straw is not plastic, but metal. However it is a small opening and the fluid does not flow as easily as I expected. It is not like drinking your favorite soft drink, the flow is much slower. If not for that, this would be a 5-star

Nice addition

I wanted to use my swelled bottle at the gym but I didn't necessarily wanted a have to tilt it to drink from it. This attachment with the straw is the perfect compromise. I'm able to use it easily in the gym and the office and in the car. Love love love

Nice concept

This is a good start but needs refining. Suction is average unless you unscrew the lid a bit but then that results in leaks. If you unscrew it to much, you’re sucking a lot of air.

Amazing

You need a straw for your S'well? This is it. I got one for me and one for my mom. Make sure if yountake it apart for cleaning that you completely seat the silicone piece back inside or the straw will get air in with the drink. This is going to make our bottles perfect for our trip down under.

Really hard to suck

The straw part is rather small and you really have to suck very hard to get water. I had an old one that had a round straw and it was much easier but it was plastic and I dropped it and the plastic piece that brings the straw up broke so I thought that the one made by Swell especially for their bottles would be better.

Works great. Easy to use one handed.

Flip top is so easy to use one handed. Doesn't leak. Still keeps the cold in. The straw part is optional and can be removed, but I really like the metal straw. Works great. Game changer. Just wish there was one for the larger, 22 oz. sized bottles, too. These fit the 17 oz. bottles.

Doesn't fit properly, leaks

Two stars for the concept, but it didn't properly fit the 17oz S'well & so it leaked. Wish they'd fixed the design instead of discontinuing the item.

Love swell products but

This will be great if you only plan to use it for water nothing else and be aware that if the straw comes out it no longer has correct suction

Unfortunately poor cap design, broke twice.

I'm sorry to write a negative review. I really wanted to love this item. My 8 year old daughter has the 17 oz bottle. I ordered her the cap with the straw, to make it easier for her to drink from. The first time I ordered this item, it broke after just a few times using it. There is a flaw in the design. Somehow the cap you push back to drink from, when in the closed position get stuck and twists in such a way that one is unable to use it altogether. It basically jams and no amount of twisting will get it to aline properly to open it. I thought maybe I'd gotten a lemon, so I took the plunge and bought another one. I had high hopes for the second cap, but this one too broke, and in record time. She used the cap less than a week before it jammed again the same as the first one. I love Swell bottles and have two of them, but this cap is awful and a waste of money. Unfortunately, both had to be thrown into the garbage and they were practically new, very disappointing! The company should not be selling these caps until they are re-designed.

Swell can do better

Can't get a good sip without unscrewing it a bit, then if you forget to tighten, it will leak. Expensive too. Maybe I should return it.

Flawed Construction, doesn’t work well

Okay I loved how it fit my swell bottle and REALLY wanted this to work. However, as many other reviews have stated, there is a flaw in the construction of this straw. It is SO hard to suck up the water through the straw!! It is missing the hole in the top to allow air flow which would make it easier to suck the water up like every other water bottle or to go cup out there. How was this missed? I don’t know. Defiantly made it a struggle to get a decent amount of water to drink when thirsty and to keep hydrated. What a struggle!! Returned.

Not Impressed - Not worth money

Straw is definitely not wide enough to get a decent amount of water when trying to take a drink. Plus, it also makes it harder to wash being so skinny.
