Thumb Stockinette

Ordered for my wife who was using a temporary arm/ wrist brace. Nice to have multiples so she could wash them. They fit well and washed easily .Her only complaint was the threading around thumb kept getting caught on Velcro straps when pulling the brace over it.

Useful Item

I used these as a cover for my bandages when I had hand surgery. I wanted to keep my splint & wrapping clean until they were removed. These are washable & worked perfectly. They kept the bandages from looking nasty & unwrapping! I’m glad I had them.

Very nicely made and works well under a splint

I am impressed with these cotton wrist sleeves. I recently broke my arm and had to wear a hard splint. These were a life saver. So comfortable. The thumb and palm area were a bit long, but I just folded them over. I tried cutting them, but the will fray. Folding worked the best. They also wash and dry nicely.

I like them

Only reason I dropped a star is I have to wear it under a brace that has a tendency to rub. If they were a little thicker I think that might help with the rubbing.

Great for daily use!

I massage castor oil into my thumb joints --CMC joints-- bone spur/arthritis issues, and use these stockinettes as coverings, like a wrap. Though this product frays over time, it holds up well enough through multiple machine washings.

Edges unfinished and unravel

The stockinette is quite comfortable under the brace I am wearing. However, as others have noted, the edges are unfinished and starting to unravel after only 24 hours of use. The product page shows 3 photos; the upper and lower photos show unfinished edges and look like the product I received. The middle product photo is different and shows finished edges. This is NOT what I received. But, the stockinette makes the brace far more comfortable than a layer of elastic bandage or a piece of tube sock that I was using until I could get a better solution. I usually wear size 7 or 7.5 gloves and the Small fits well.

Makes a good outer-wrap for casts

If you have a wrist cast, you will experience many bashes and scrapes to the cast. This can be used over plaster or fiberglass casts to prevent abrasion to your face, legs, window sill, etc. Keeps your cast clean, and stops the dust/scratches on tables and armrests.
