Good, but not perfect

I already had the other Revlon 1-step volumizer and hair dryer brush and was a big fan, but once I cut my hair shorter (it's now a shoulder-length bob), it didn't work very well for me anymore. My dream product was an old (cheap!) Babyliss hair dryer brush I bought around 30 years ago on a trip to London; I've kept it around because it's useful for travel in 220-240v countries. It was a great styling tool -- had a 1" barrel size and removable brush top so you could rough dry your hair just using the hot air out of the nozzle before styling it with the blow drying brush. Unfortunately, I dropped and broke it on a recent trip to Peru and so I was motivated to see if I could find a replacement suitable for everyday use in the US. Thought this Revlon 1-step root booster round brush might be the one! And it IS good, but it's not everything. First, the barrel size is still a little too large at 1.5"; I think a 1" barrel would be better. Second, it would be great to be able to remove the brush head for a rough dry (and maybe to be able to put on different attachments like a larger or smaller brush barrel or even a metal curling iron attachment, which would be heated by the hot air. Third, this dryer is insanely LOUD. In order to protect my ears, I've taken to using earplugs while I use this dryer. I don't feel the need to do that with any of my other blow dryers. Fourth, as others have noted, it does get extremely hot. The "hi" heat setting is almost unusable unless you want to fry your hair. I use this only on the "lo" heat setting, and then only after a rough dry with another hair dryer, and even the low setting is pretty hot. Lastly, the "cool" setting isn't very cool, and because the setting switch twists around the bottom of the dryer, it can be a little awkward to change the setting from a heat setting to a cool setting while the brush is in your hair (which is obviously when you'd most like to do it). A "cool shot" button placed further up the barrel would be much more user-friendly. All this said, it's a pretty decent blow-dry brush for a moderate price. It adds volume and I can finish drying my hair whilst styling it at the same time, which is good. If Revlon were to address all the issues described above, it would be an AMAZING tool (and I would pay more money for it, too)!

sleek + smooth hair, just needs better temp control access

I tried this hair drier/styler and it makes using a round brush soooo easy and effective. I have fine-medium 2B wavy hair and this drier brush made my hair almost as straight as a flat iron but without the iron's potential heat damage. I washed my hair, sectioned into 2 sections: top and bottom, then put leave-in conditioner and blow dry cream thru the mids/ends. Rough dried my hair with regular blow drier until roots were mostly dry and hair was damp, brush thru with wet brush. Then I took the same 2 sections, tiny bit of light hair oil and used this Revlon brush to create a blow out style. This drier gets HOT on the high setting and keeps it hot while the hair is going thru the brush, it's kind of hard to do a Cool-Shot to set the style OR know what temperature the drier is at. I used the low setting after it got warmed up and that seemed to work great. Was very easy to use and took less than 10 minutes. I would say the barrel size is the perfect size to use to make sleek loose waves, not for defined curls. I was very shocked to see minimal frizz . The only problem I have with the design of this brush drier is I would prefer something with a simple temp display to see what exact temperature is "HIGH" and "LOW" and "COOL." Also, instead of the temp control I would prefer buttons or something with more easier access while you're styling the hair. Other than that its so easy to hold, long cord, and my style has lasted for days now. So far I really like this drier brush and would recommend!

Impressive

I hate styling my hair in the morning. I usually pull it up so I don’t have to mess with it. I have shoulder length, very fine, thinning hair. I put a little product in my hair and dampened it. Ran this on low and I was done smoothing out and bending the ends under in under 5 minutes. Better than just using a curling iron since this gave me more volume. And since I never blow dry my hair, this creates the effect like I did. Win win!

Se me hace mucho más fácil que la otra versión por la que muchos nos volvimos locos por conseguir. Soy una ama de casa y madre de 5 hijos, necesito cosas que me ayuden con el tiempo y no sean muy complicadas, Funciona! Solo es un poco de práctica. El cabello no debe estar mojado.

Another great revlon!

I ve the bigger one and works wonderful. This one is little smaller, but same power. I ve medium, fine hair. It takes me less than 10 minutes to do my hair.

If you have thicker hair this isn't the best option. Try their original one or the 2.0 version

Volume for layered hair!

I don’t usually write reviews, but for this… it’s a must! This ceramic heated brush is great for layered hair! Thoroughly impressed with the results! I feel like I just got a salon blow out and it was all done in 15 minutes (on 2nd day dried hair). I have the original Revlon one step brush and this is a shorter barrel (1.5 in). It’s ceramic and glides smoothly through hair. A bit slippery to grab hair when rolling it up to the root. The original brush will get your hair dry in a pinch but this brush adds details to your layered pieces and adds more volume to the root. It gets hot and smoky like the original, so be mindful. 10/10 Definitely recommend!

BIG VOLUME! It's like a time machine for your hair - hello 1986!

Rec'd for Xmas. It's a little awkward using it at first. I think this is a styling tool when your hair is already 1/2 dry. It doesn't have hard bristles like the larger model, so it doesn't move through wet hair easily... these soft bristles don't help at all when trying to lift and dry hair. The hard bristles would also prevent it from getting too close to the scalp. (-1 star) You have to practice with it, to find the right technique. The first time, my hair reminded me of 1986 Big Hair from college. Next time I pulled up and out and down... totally different. Because the brush is heated, you get a bigger effect (whether curl, volume, etc.) than you get from a regular blow dryer and ceramic round brush. You can even pull really tight, and get the same kind of curl you'd get from a curling iron.

O produto é péssimo! Nunca tive uma escova que esquentasses tanto. Chega a queimar os cabelos. Não compro nunca mais e vou descarta/lá no lixo. Fica minha indignação. Tentei devolver, não aceitaram. Se prestasse, teriam aceitado!????
