Great 30amp power cord

We have had this cord for over three years, and it serves it purpose of a stand-by generator power cord very well. Its 10 feet/30 amp and seems to be well constructed.

Cable is stiff but female side is illuminated

I have a few of these cables from different vendors now. This one is the stiffest, likely a result of the lower grade plastics in the cable itself. A better quality cable is supple and bends like a wet noodle, and doesn't hold a shape even in the cold. I would have given this review 3 stars, but the illuminated ended is a nice touch, so barely squeaks by with 4 stars.

Power your house with this cord

I bought a 6500 watt generator as backup supply for my house. I contracted an electrician to install a transfer switch to enable the generator to feed power to my home in the event of a power failure. He recommended an interlock kit instead. It's easier to use and it's cheaper. Once he completed the install, we turned off the mains, flipped the interlock, attached the power cord from the generator to the outlet on the interlock kit and fired up the generator. Everything ran smoothly. One word of advice, we had to trip breakers on the AC, and water heater. The generator supplies 30 amps which is not enough to run everything. This power cord is just what I needed to complete the project.

Really Nice

Cord is well put together and nice and flexible. I had ordered a 20 foot cord by another manufacturer and then while browsing found this one. I quickly cancelled my first order from Amazon and ordered this one and I am glad I did. Ten feet gives me room to spare without most of the cord hanging on the wall. I haven't tried it yet as I am waiting for final work on my transfer switch but I have it plugged in and cord on hook above so it is ready without having too much groping to do in the dark. I'm sure the cord will do it's job well and if not Reliance has a 24 month warranty...very generous.

It Appears To Be As Advertised

It's a cord to connect a portable generator to the house. It appears to be sturdy. There aren't any cracks or other noticeable imperfections. One end plugs into the generator receptacle, and the other into the transfer switch receptacle. The electrician installed the wrong receptacle for the transfer switch. Until that is fixed, I can't say whether or not the cord works as advertised.
