Great twist to a regular jigsaw puzzle

My kids (7 and 9) loved this puzzle! For those that don't know about Ravensburger Escape Puzzles, here's some background: When you build the puzzle, there are parts in the picture that look different from the picture on the box. Those differences are clues that lead to different number answers. The numbers are all on the edge of the puzzle. Find the clue, solve the puzzle, find the corresponding puzzle piece, and rebuild the pieces to get your final answer! (In this case, you're trying to figure out how to escape a haunted amusement park when the only way out has broken tracks.) My kids have cooled on doing jigsaw puzzles over the last few years, but they eagerly put this together in a day. They then immediately wanted to solve the clues. There was not a single mention of wanting to play video games that day. I was able to figure out the clues myself and guided them when they had trouble, but there is a scan code you can use for hints, and the final solution is in a white envelope in the box. We are eagerly awaiting the next kids escape puzzle!

Super Fun

We ordered this puzzle for my 8 year old son. He assembled it in a day and the following day we solved it for the escape. It took a little bit to understand what we were looking for; but it was fun for the whole family.

Done in a few hours

My family of teenagers sat down and knocked this one out in an afternoon. They absolutely loved doing it and even enjoyed trying to figure out the clues. We can’t wait to do another escape puzzle.

Excellent (until the last step)

Ok the actual solution was a bit underwhelming and not very clever (my 9 year old suggested it in the first 5 mins). But the other 95% of assembling and working out the clues was a solid 5 stars. My son loved it and didn't even think of video games for 4 hours (win!). This was our first one so we didn't get the concept and used the QR code clues. They are excellent, there are 4 levels of tips you can reveal as needed. You have to look for numerical codes in the puzzle, then matching them to edge pieces. You then remove those edge pieces and use them to build a mini puzzle to show the answer. At first I picture we were looking for pictorial clues and trying to explain the differences in the picture, but nope, they are just there to help you work out numbers.

Two pieces missing

We love Ravensburger puzzles and have bought over 20 in the past 2 years from various places, either online or brick and mortar stores. The quality is always top notch but out of the last 3 puzzles we have bought, 2 of them have been missing pieces. This Escape puzzle is missing 2 pieces which is super disappointing for my kids (12,10,7yo) as there could be clues contained within the missing pieces, plus the puzzle is incomplete. We opened it up 2 days ago and finished it today, but since it has passed the return window (I bought it last month) I cannot return it. We are disappointed that the Ravensburger quality control has deteriorated.

Too difficult for a 12 year old

This puzzle was a huge disappointment. The actual puzzle has a different picture on it than is shown on the box. This is due to the exit game which starts after the puzzle is finished but my daughter and I found it annoying to do a puzzle without a correct picture to look at. Once we started the exit game we got stuck very quickly because there aren’t any clues and it’s not at all obvious what to do with the differences in the pictures. The differences between the two pictures are easy to spot but how to find numbers from the differences is quite challenging. My 12 year old daughter and I were able to figure out 2 of the 6 clues. After spending a lot of time on it and feeling like quitting, we had to go online to find clues from Ravensburger. These clues didn’t really help but in the end they gave us the answers. I would not recommend this product.

I found no dislikes with this product, very well put together and the quality of the puzzle was above and beyond!

Fun Night With Family!

Gave this as a gift for Christmas and the review was that this was a fun night with the family! The puzzle was fun, not SUPER challenging, and the escape part was just the right difficulty to do with a couple of nine year olds. Perhaps a bit tricky for them to figure out, but they were able to contribute enough to keep them interested.

Fun for the whole family

This was a fun way to spend an evening as a family. The puzzle was just challenging enough to keep interest. The escape portion was a bit tough for our 10 yr old, but because we all did it together we were able to get the hang of it. Once you complete one of these puzzles you understand how to get to the answer for the others.

Pleasure and entertainment derived

This puzzle was bought for my niece and nephew aged 14 and 11 respectively . Their mother reports that they really enjoyed doing the puzzle and whilst it took them a while to meet the challenges posed, it didn't result in them becoming frustrated or giving up. A thumbs up from the family

Your child will not want to go to sleep!

An amazing experience! Wasn’t sure if my 8 year old (or even I) would know what to do when he completed the puzzle but he got right on it. What a great idea!
