Great value for the quality

I have spooled the reel with 12lb braid. The reel is smooth. Drag is easily adjustable. Drag action is smooth. Casting is smooth. Reel takes in line and loads it on the spool perfectly. I have landed 4 lb smallmouth bass and 5lb pikeminnow and the reel has performed flawlessly so far.

Does not come pre-spooled

The description states that the reel comes pre-spooled with max-cast braided line but mine did not. Consider that before purchasing this product.

The other guys review is because he can't read

The other guys comment is just wrong. This states it comes with a max xast spool with a (BRAID BAND!!!) The band keeps the braid from slipping while you spool it. He made an ID 10 T error

Local Purchase, would gladly buy again

I was in a rush to go fishing and left a few of my light reels at home by accident. I stopped at a local box store and picked up a few combos that felt decent. I planned to target speck bass and puppy drum under pier lights in the gulf. Well I spooled it with 8lb flouro from pline and I was drifting a live shrimp on a #10 treble 3x and a tiny split shot. I ended up fighting 4 big reds that were >27". I got spooled by one that ran down the beach and I was finally able to turn. The reels drag is butter smooth, the rod had great spine, I was very impressed for a sub 50$ reel combo. I have more confidence in my Penn's, but this quantum is now a part of my pier cart for sure. (not to mention the looks are very nice)
