There’s nothing else like Pyrex, and I’ve been using their beautiful glass products since I started cooking at about the age of ten. I had a regular size Pyrex 9”x13” baking pan like this one, except this one is deeper than the one I had way back when. This is an extra deep baking dish that’s 50% deeper compared to the standard 9”x13” Pyrex baking dish. I had a standard Pyrex baking dish in this size but, unfortunately, when we moved here five years ago I never found it. I know it’s here somewhere, but I surely have missed it, and I was so excited to see this beautiful Pyrex dish available for ordering here. You can do anything with Pyrex, but this deeper dish is meant for lasagna, casseroles, things of that nature - I always used my Pyrex for chicken and rice casserole - and you can turn the lid upside down and use it as a standard depth Pyrex 9x13” baking dish. That’s the perfect size and depth for brownies, lemon bars, or cherry dump cake. I’m getting hungry here. The lid, by the way, is a wonderful addition to this XL Pyrex dish; you can cook your food with the lid on or off and you can always use the lid when you put the leftovers in the refrigerator. This gorgeous Pyrex dish is dishwasher, freezer, microwave, and PREHEATED oven safe. I didn’t know about that feature for a long time, until someone enlightened me, and I was lucky I didn’t break my Pyrex dishes before I knew that. This Pyrex dish has a capacity of 5.2 quarts and measures the standard 9”x13” size, as does the lid. If you cook for a big dinner, a holiday, or for your family, and you want to make something that will feed everyone, this is the baking dish to use. I think it’s beautiful because it’s still real Pyrex glass, and it goes all the way back to my childhood memories, always cooking something delicious in the Pyrex dish. My neighbor saw this and thought it was gorgeous, too. I nearly had to get my dog to make her back away from the dish. Pyrex is special to those of us of a certain age who remember when it was first on the market. Excellent product, a trusty extra-deep Pyrex 9”x13” baking dish with a Pyrex glass lid that also doubles as a standard depth baking pan. This baking dish is 50% deeper compared to the standard 9”x13” Pyrex baking dishes, and it has a capacity of 5.2 quarts. This pan is designed mainly for cooking things like lasagna or casseroles, a huge pan of dressing for Thanksgiving dinner, a big pan of chicken and rice casserole, things of that nature, and the lid is a standard 9”x13” baking dish that’s perfect for my favorite, brownies, lemon bars, and things of that nature. I’m not sure how deep the lid is or if you can bake a cake in it, but I’d check that before trying a cake since that wasn’t mentioned. Pyrex has a long tradition of making the best glass cookware on the market, and this excellent baking dish is a good example of why they have it. If it’s Pyrex, you can count on it. It can go in the dishwasher, freezer, microwave, or a PREHEATED oven, a fact I didn’t know until a few years after I’d started using Pyrex at a young age. This would make a fantastic gift for anyone who cooks big dishes or big dinners, and it’s really two pans in one since the lid converts. The baking dish weighs 3.38 pounds, surprisingly light for so much glass, so sturdy. I highly recommend this beautiful Pyrex baking pan to anyone who cooks for the holidays or cooks a big meal for his/her family with leftovers, like lasagna or casseroles. The only thing better than a Pyrex baking dish that’s 50% deeper than the regular 9”x13” size is a set of TWO Pyrex baking dishes, using the lid for brownies and similar desserts. This is a wonderful product.
