Fun, engaging puzzle game that needs just a bit of QOL improvements.

My wife and I first discovered Head Spin at a local brewery, brand new and not even opened. We gave it a shot and really had a blast playing! We decided to order the game since we enjoyed it so much, and indeed it's a lot of fun. Fun for adults over some beers, or teens hanging out at home as well. Our only gripe has to do with the quality of components present here. 1) The color "yellow" does not match across everything; yellow on the cards is a completely different tone than the yellow on spinner, which personally is distracting for me. 2) The spinner itself could really use some improvement. If it was more like a rubiks cube where each row clicks into place, that would be perfect. Unfortunately the spinner tends to get stuck when rotating the colors, and you'll move multiple rows at once when you were trying to only move one row, which impacts the gameplay. 3) The box itself has a slot where you sit your cards during gameplay, to hide the answers on the bottom of the card. This... doesn't work so well. The card ends up leaning a good 60 degrees which makes reading the instructions on the card difficult for the players. Instead of that, we end up putting the card between the plastic mold and the cardboard edge of the box which works great. So in short, really fun game and I solidly recommend, we just think the quality of the components could be improved as stated above, which would make this a 5+ star game easy.

Purchased as a gift

This was purchased as a gift for a family with teenagers, and it was well received. So much fun for everyone! If you’re considering this game, you should definitely buy it!

Unconventional, Out of the Box Game

If you were looking for a game that breaks the mold of conventional board games this is for you!! Head Spin is unique and out of the box. You race against your family to be the first to solve puzzles and challenges. It's a frantic, frenetic experience, a bit like trying to defuse the bomb in an action movie - don't cut the red wire! This innovative game got our whole family engaged in discussion. Not like anything else on our shelf.

Competitive and Thrilling Game

I was looking for a game to add to our collection and I came across this one online. If you love solving puzzles, thinking outside the box, and something to bring up your adrenaline this is it. We had so much fun playing this game and it is our turn to for game nights now.

A quick diversion for two people

This is an easy game to learn and play with two people, with just a few minor challenges to the game. First - the good: It is fast to learn. I found a video online quickly showing how to play, but you don't even need that. There are mini challenges that you have to solve quickly - you solve it, you get the point/card for that challenge. Good - It is quick to play. We played the whole game in about 10-15 minutes. You can speed it up by changing the points needed to win. Good - You can play with only two people. Sometimes, a games says 2-6 people, but when you play with 2, it is lame. This is not. It really is designed to be fun with just two. (Because you have to buy the expansion pack to play with more than two, I am going to stick with 1 on 1 for now) The "depends" what you want: The puzzles are quick challenges - not mind blowing puzzles. You win by being speedy at solving them and getting the answer on your little spinner. If you are looking to prove you are super smart - this is going to feed your ego. I played with a 10 year-old and he could do all of them - some faster than others, but he had fun. The "I wish" factors: The spinner you put your answer on is a struggle to turn sometimes. It is a fidget, but not the slickest one. I also want to play with more than just one other person, but that means I have to buy the expansion game. As mentioned above, I don't know if it would be as much fun if you had 6 people playing, though. Best with two. Overall - it is a delightful diversion for two people and would be fine for 9 years and up. Family challenges are probably best because it is hard for a single person to dominate.
